Why not sell Flight in the game store?

No.

I don't really see why old content can't just be for gold at this point though, it's obsolete anyways.
i would buy + 450% flight for a couple 100k gold

I've researched the (rather excessive IMO) questlines and reputations needed in order to unlock flight in such places as Draenor or the Broken Isles, and the question springs to mind:

Why aren't players just allowed to purchase this ability in the game store for cash?

I can virtually guarantee it would be a huge cash cow for Blizzard. You underestimate the number of frustrated players who would rather open their wallet than have to slog through scores of quests and obtain high reputation with multiple factions. I'd personally quite happily pay for this and smile while doing it. Anything to avoid the endless running and trying to circumnavigate mountain ranges and elite foes just to get to the next turn-in.

Just a thought.

Are you EA?

As an aside, selling flight would be a short-term money gain, for a long-term loss in "time-played" metrics.

Is this trolling or serious?

Either way, i'l you why, it's microtransactions.

I never also understood why people rather pay (real money) instead of unlocking it. Is the game that tedious to you that you're willing to pay more money to just unlock flying to make it bearable for you?

That's just like with Assassin's Creed Odyssey time savers, that it got praise cause people can spend more money to make the grind easier. Just what?...

I'm not attacking anybody for having these thoughts in their heads or how they spend their money, but i don't want any microtransactions, and neither does a lot of people apparently, and yet they keep getting into more and more games and publishers will keep putting them in, cause people who are willing to spend on microtransactions.

You can yell "it's just cosmetic" until you're blue in the face, but i think most of us agree with don't want microtransactions in our games in the first place.

Those are my thoughts and i don't mean to come across rude, it's just i strongly disapprove of this topic particular.
I can't think of something worse than putting essential items/skills on the Shop.

As far as previous expansions, I would fully support removing pathfinder, making it gold, or maybe a compromise:

Remove all reps needed for previous expansion pathfinders. Once you do the story line quest lines needed, you are done.
We've got more than enough stuff in that store that should be ingame only.
the last thing we really need is ANYTHING THat takes us closer to f2p!

You are not a game designer.

You are a biased, self absorbed, myopic customer who only cares about what you want, not what is balanced for the game and the millions of other people in it.

A game designer would immediately look at your plan and say:

"That is a huge balance issue."

"That is a pay to win mechanic."

"That is a bad idea."

You are not a game designer.
They'll make more money if you spend more time logged in the game. You'll spend more time logged in the game if it takes you longer to get places, kill mobs, and do pretty much anything.

becouse this isnt a daybreak game like lotro..
"Why not sell Flight in the game store?"

Why not just play the game and unlock flight the way it's designed to be now? Or maybe get trained in game development, get hired by Blizzard, work your way up the ladder, claim Ion's job... then change the flight requirements.

Purchasing in-game advantages is gonna be a no from me. It's already pretty close to that with wow tokens, except you'd have to be an idiot to buy more than one of those.
Worst idea ever!

There are already too many things in the cash shop.
I'd rather slog through if that's the only idea you can come up with. But it'd be better if it just went back to how it used to be: buy it from a flight/riding trainer.

No, it would completely ruin the benefits of Pathfinder, and open a door to selling game skipping items for real money.

You mean like those level boosts they sell for $60 that lets you skip the entire game?

Yeah, you're right. We can't have that. . .

If they sold whale flight, I would buy it instantly.

But I think they would rather you crawl around because their designers did all that work and wouldn't they be sad if you just sailed over it all.

Won't someone consider the designers!

Oh and I LOVED the biased, self-absorbed, myopic poem above. For real, no sarcasm. It was moving. Kudos.

Totally agree. Price should be $1,500 per character.
Or the carries people buy with gold? Or the 385 gear people by from the AH skipping the terrible gear grind?

Yeah, nobody spends tons of money on tokens for in game gold...lol.
Wouldn't surprise me if WoW made more revenue from the cash shop than actual subs.

To be perfectly fair and honest with you, while i do say i don't like microtransactions, i find them more acceptable in a Free to play game. The keyword is free. Microtransacations on games any higher then $0.00 is unacceptable.

That is not to say some free to pay games aren't EA greedy (never-mind the fact dungeon keeper mobile and a myriad of crap still exists), It's just, people generally expect this kind of stuff in mobile or free to play games. with premium priced games, you expect you get all the content from the price of 60 or 30, or even 10. Occasionally you get some DLC or expansions with substantial amount of content, but that's it. Sometime around 2010 or what not, games, the Triple-A kind, decided to have microtransacations in their games since DLC, Pre-orders, Online passes, all other crap didn't work out exactly they wanted it. Then Lootboxes happened cause of overwatch, then Battlefront 2 happened, then it's back to microtransactions and all that jazz.

No i havn't played PoE, but i have played TF2.
