Why not sell Flight in the game store?

I've researched the (rather excessive IMO) questlines and reputations needed in order to unlock flight in such places as Draenor or the Broken Isles, and the question springs to mind:

Why aren't players just allowed to purchase this ability in the game store for cash?

I can virtually guarantee it would be a huge cash cow for Blizzard. You underestimate the number of frustrated players who would rather open their wallet than have to slog through scores of quests and obtain high reputation with multiple factions. I'd personally quite happily pay for this and smile while doing it. Anything to avoid the endless running and trying to circumnavigate mountain ranges and elite foes just to get to the next turn-in.

Just a thought.

dont give them any ideas. Im afraid one day WoW will be selling all kinds of nonsense on the stores and thats when the game will really go down the tubes.

No, it would completely ruin the benefits of Pathfinder, and open a door to selling game skipping items for real money.
Well they need to say something at Blizz con so this might happen.
First flight.. Then get the mythic set from x raid for $175.

And YOU underestimate the number of frustrated people it would cause who can't open their wallets for it. Who would be more pissed off at that solution that the status quo.

Good. We won't need Pathfinder.

Because this isn't a friggin' pay-to-win game.

If you don't want to play the game, then don't play it. Don't go throwing money around just to avoid playing a game you already pay to play. That's just insane.

That would be the actions of a F2P game.

Another rep will be required... You know like the last two xpacs?
Because Wow is trying to avoid falling into the cash shop P2W trap that claims most games.

No Pay 2 Win.

It is already a pay to win with the token.
You can buy tokens get all the high end gear in the AH without doing mythic raids.

That door already exists technically. Tokens = in game gold = carries + high end gear and all the perks / criticisms that come with it. It's just that at $20 per token, its uncommon to see someone exploit it to the point of Pay2Win. But the game is already there.

I don't know that I'd agree PF has any benefits, other than making sure players have a moderate experience of the new zones. The +mount speed that doesn't stack with any other increases isn't much of a benefit.

The game was entirely more fun with flying at max level. There was lore and flying only content.

They could have had fun with flying instead of killing it off. In PvP a grenade with an AoE that did a small amount of damage and dismounted PvP flagged players hit by the AoE would have been hilarious. Allow engineers to craft them even.
