That way if your main is Kyrian with a renown of 7 you can roll an alt join the same covenant and keep that 7, not have to start back at 0.
Really lessens the replay value, to have two alts in the same covenant.

Time gating.
More you play more you are subscribed.
Iâve been subbed consistently for 9 years. All timegateing does is make me more inclined to play other games
So youâd still play if you did everything all at once?
I know a lot of people who would do all the things then not play until the next patch, it doesnât really retain customers.
This is my last 5 months, the only thing i wanted itâs to experiment the best mmorpg ever made⌠the community, the adventure!
And I didnât find any of that in here.
At least I didnât play for 20 years, so Iâm able to leave this game.
The longest stretch Iâve gone without playing has been maybe 1 or 1 and 1/2 months but even then my sub remained.
Yes
On the other hand not having to log on and do a bunch of chores when you get a new alt to level cap might make people want to play alts more.
If your alt is going to be doing cutting-edge raiding or mythics or anything, theyâre going to be doing a grind once they hit 60 anyway. Collecting 5 souls and 1000 anima every week isnât going to slow them down that much getting maxed out on everything. Theyâre already behind the curve. If theyâre not doing cutting-edge content, having a renown of 4 instead of 28 isnât going to stop them from doing the content you want.
Next: thereâs a practical issue with the âalts vs. mainâ argument, in that you could (pretty easily, renown isnât that hard to come by) get an alt to max renown for each covenant and then start swapping your mainâs covenant every day because they wonât have to re-level anything, as if the intent of covenants being locked in the way they are.
Itâs week four of the expansion. Anima is already getting easier to come by (Iâve done three 250 anima reward quests in three days this week). There will be more catch up mechanisms as the expansion goes on.
So then what more would you do if youâve done âeverythingâ?
Or complain that thereâs nothing to do because the game was âdumbed downâ too much. The âthereâs not enough to doâ argument is WAY more popular than the âI have too much to doâ one.
The same players begging for everything to be accessible day 1 would complain thereâs nothing to do the day after they did everything.
Bingo was his name-o
Letâs just make everything account-wide so we can complain about there being nothing to do anymore and unsub.
Lol where is the money in that?
Finish the MQ and all the side quest, replay the MQ at least 4 times. Then get all my relevant alts to max. Then I just raid/pvp/RP/level alts/achievement hunt till the next expansion.
So what people do already even with timegatingâŚ
Ok⌠and your point is
Meh, you get renown on alts for doing random things as you play.
I got to renown 7 just leveling my alt. Then got caught up to cap by doing dungeons and the world boss.
How about they get rid of renowned and stygia and soul ash and all the other stupid crap in the game and they just make it how vanilla was. With some quality of life features in retail. And normalize all PVP gear inside of an instance.
There you go now wow is fixed
