No, this is simply an age old tale of people having the same access to the same content, but one group decides they “deserve” those rewards without having to do the same activities as others who earned those rewards.
It’s completely fair, everyone has the same access to the same content, it’s just a matter of whether or not they want to do it. Destroying the reward structure for people who don’t participate in the content but want the rewards is just giving in to the entitlement.
Nah more like it’s gonna be last patch of the expansion and they’re gonna milk it out for as much as they can, that includes, I guess, having mythic gear months later than those doing it from the source. Such a system couldn’t work earlier because there might not be enough time to benefit from it.
I think this is an incentive from blizzard to entice the looter to then try and run that other content, if they want to upgrade it. But also a nod to those who prefer OW content by putting this kind of gear in the loot table.
You can get 3 wyrm crests a week doing LFR.
Regrettably, I’ve not done LFR yet this expansion since I return about two and a half months ago. But this is good to know for those that feel LFR is more enjoyable than mythic +
Oh yeah I was farming aspect last time I was serious. Just saying yeah, for those that dislike the idea of talking to people in a mmo, it’s still a possibility.
The problem here seems to be that people think they deserve/need the “Best” gear. you don’t. you deserve/need the gear that drops in the content that you do. edit: or the content you have to do to upgrade to X level.
if I only did heroic, I wouldn’t be crying because the bosses didn’t drop mythic quality gear. that would be silly. blizzard has muddied the waters too much as it is, asking them to just throw higher ilvl gear at you for lower ilvl content “because lolz casual” just makes the gearing situation more chaotic.
I dont see it as such. Personally i am not going to burst a gasket if all my gear is not at 8/8
I see it as more like “Here enjoy this gift, and maybe you could try the content you can upgrade it in if you wish.”

You can purchase a Wyrm’s Bountiful Chest (which contains 15 Wyrm’s Crest Fragments) from Hamuul Runetotem using a Dreamsurge Chrysalis earned from the weekly Dreamsurge quest, which can then be used to fully upgrade Champion level gear. All world content.
I really liked what they had in Wrath/Cata, where you could buy previous tier heroic (then normal) raid gear for cheap and have more expensive currency for current heroic raid items. You wouldn’t swim in current epics, but it was reasonable to buy a slot or two. I thought it was cool and straightforward.
And it also worked as a tease that enticed to try harder content to get more of those items.
I mean if you want to spend 6 weeks to upgrade a single piece of gear to 437 via buying the thing off dreamsurges once a week, go for it, but don’t then come to the forums complaining because you refuse to do the rest of the content designed for that level of reward (Heroic Raid, M+ 11-15, Mythic Mega Dungeon).
You have an interesting idea but it won’t work. All your gonna do is piss off the M+ community. The 1/8 gear upgrade system is better and if it’s still not good enough for you then well ……………not gonna say it

If this was the case you would be smashing 20’s+ , mythic raiding or doing high rated PvP instead of complaining on the forums about gear.
