For example, every dungeon you do gives you one token. After 30 tokens, you can get a piece of mythic gear. These tokens can be used to also upgrade that gear.
The number of tokens required could be tweaked, but someone like me is likely never going to push beyond 15s. I don’t enjoy the every mistake = death type play, but I would like to get the gear at some point in time.
This would also make it so that heroic dungeons have purpose longer than three months after an expansion releases.
If they were going to do it, I would prefer a system like they had in BFA for Azerite gear. You got currency that would allow you to roll for a random piece for a specific slot every 2ish weeks, or you could buy specific piece every 3-4ish weeks if you saved your currency.
But yeah, if players could farm currency from heroic dungeons for mythic gear…you would have people living in heroic dungeons for the first 2-3 weeks of the patch and that would be bad.
Several world events award Champion gear but cannot be fully upgraded doing the content in which is was earned. Argument was made moot by Blizz themsleves.
Ok let me simply this.
If you want to upgrade or the highest level then do the content that awards the credits.
You shouldn’t get heroic ilvl gear for doing normal level content.
This is going to get a lot of hate, but honestly I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to hit max ilvl with enough time spent. I think 30 is way too low, this should be a sort of like, keep plugging away at it and after months of work you’ll be able to get there type deal.
At the same time though, it’s incredibly easy to get geared out in heroic level gear. It’s super easy to get gear in this expansion.
You’re kind of going to get something like this in season 3.
Crests are becoming a currency (instead of fragments > crests that take up bag space) and once you’ve maxed out your use of X crest (eg: if whelp crests no longer can upgrade your stuff) you’ll be able to trade them up into higher-level crests.
Right now it’s the equivalent of 6 current crests (90 fragments) to get a higher-level crest, which really isn’t bad if you’re able to just blast through your current content.
