Mythic +, when the group starts off bad or if there is a wipe, you can tell when someone rage quits.
They just go offline.
Why?
Why not just leave the group and Teleport out. Are you that embarrassed of your self? Can you not handle the game you pay for? Don’t get me wrong I leave groups sometimes, but I just leave group and Hearthstone out. Just kinda funny that I see most players go offline. LOL

They think Blizzard won’t action them for going offline.

That’s what I was thinking.

They won’t be actioned for going offline.
But they also won’t be actioned for hearthing out after a wipe either.

If they do it often enough, they will. Yes.
No they won’t.
I have a strong suspicion that the only ones who caught a griefing ban were the ones who left without entering combat. Because that’s trivially easy to run an automated report on logs and find out. Once combat has happened and some live person has to sit down and review anything, forget it.
Once enough combat has happened for a wipe, then someone really has to dig and decide if that person is justified in leaving and there is no way they’re putting that much effort into enforcement.

It’s most likely for the reasons above, but they could also just not want the whispers that may follow. Though not this situation, I made a mistake back in vanilla…and people have no issue attacking you after, whether it’s an oops, mistake, or on purpose.
Sometimes taking away the source of upset just makes it less dramatic.

I just say GG, leave group, hearth, it takes 10 seconds. Maybe if someone is very enraged they just want to alt f4 to be out of there in a second.

/sigh at the party leader and have your character look him in the eyes while you heart away. Make it a power move.

I gotta do this in the future. I’m ashamed to say that the one time I got tilted, the dps had bricked my +8 PSF by failing Braunpyke like 100 times; so I just walked away from my keyboard, went outside, and stared at space for like 20 minutes.
Came back to some pretty unhappy party member chat.
I should’ve hearthed out with a /em gives you a two fingered salute.
My only regret.

I do leave the group and teleport out. Also, I usually say GG. Also, usually somebody else left first before me.
What else do you want us to do? Whisper the keyholder that usually is the Carry and tell him, “Sorry no Free Carry Tonight, LOL!!!”.
Usually, the Carry wants to finish the Dungeon for his Weekly Vault. The Carrier wants 3-Chest/2-Chest fast Crests or Nothing. The Carry is the one that gets hurt.

To be fair, some players do get disconnected unwillingly (blackouts, server crashes, random disconnects) and aren’t always able to reconnect due to real life intrusions.
I haven’t seen anyone quit out of game in a long time. These days people say “gg” in chat, and leave group.
im sure someone has said it by now but by going offline they force you to kick them from the group versus them leaving the group they get a deserter debuff.
Deserter buff doesnt exist in premade content

It’s not just a ragequit of the group, they literally smashed that alt+f4 and ragequit the entire game. It’s frustration mixed with burnout.
I don’t do M+ but if I ever leave a group by “going offline” I can assure you it is because I’m embarrassed
