You can do every type of content across factions except queued content… I dont understand why they don’t just open this up. Would make queues faster for everyone. Would limit issues where 2-3 friends are trying to run content together but can’t because one happen to choose a different race…
Cuz alliance give the ick
I legitimately suspect it’s a backend programming issue, not a story one.
I do find it funny that battle grounds of all things allow cross faction queues. You know, the literal mode where Horde and Alliance meet each other on the battle field.
But it’s not available in the current climate where we are throwing flower petals in the air and undead and worgen love each other now.
Just make us race change to the leaders faction if it’s such an issue.
Because they said they don’t want to force people into cross faction groups through LFD.
It’s our choice to play cross faction. They want it to remain that way.
You can queue as a full group, though.
Add a little checkbox “Cross Faction Enabled”
Can flavor it in game to be “Horde Sympathizer” for alliance or “Alliance Lap Dog” for horde… or something, I dunno.
Then it splits the queue up, making it take longer.
This was the best compromise for now. We’ll see if things change later. Rift did similar. At first, it was only full groups that could queue cross faction. And then they allowed all cross faction queueing late down the road once people got used to it.
I thought they said they were having trouble with stuff like this.
Wouldn’t have to. You could still get a group with just your faction of those that didn’t choose cross faction. At least that’s how I would do it.
That’s not how it works, though. You’re splitting up one big queue into two smaller queues and splitting the number of people in the roles.
During MoP remix there was a period where you could cross faction queue for LFR if you were in a group when you queued. Then blizzard said “oops naw that’s a bug, we fixed it. No more worries about filthy alliance/horde in your raid groups.”
I feel like if a bug will let it happen, and blizzard can fix that bug, surely they have the technology to make it happen on purpose? Maybe that just isn’t in the budget for such a small indie dev. They are pretty new at making online games after all.
It’s silly that the most casual of group content with the largest population like LFR/RDF can’t be done cross faction.
They were able to figure it out for rated pvp
It was a conscious decision that they’ve explained twice now: they do not want to force anyone into a cross faction group in LFD. Not everyone wants to be in cross faction. It’s why group finder listings have an option.
They want people to opt in on their own if they desire.
During MoP Remix there was a bug that allowed you to queue cross-faction. It was quickly fixed.
So I’m not sure it’s a programming issue.
The ones that don’t like it can opt out simple as that
Once again… please read further…
Moving on.
Zachary, those titles for those suggestions are amazing.
They are splitting themselves from the general pool of players. They are choosing to wait longer. I haven’t cared about faction matching for ages and it’s really annoying me having to have alts I barely play on the opposite faction just because someone doesn’t play alliance. Waste of space and time characters
I’m sorry, it’s incredibly stupid we’ve had cross faction queueing for freaking battlegrounds for ages, but somehow dungeons is crossing the line.
Right and m+ is mixed soooo what is the big deal and why does the extreme minority who cares that much have a voice when the majority are fine with it
