In a dramatic moment, Thrall pushes over his anvil and reveals that he’s storing a weapon underneath it and he withdraws…a regular ax. What if he pulled out Gorehowl? Is that not the perfect poetic weapon for Thrall to wield on his redemption tour?
I mean, we don’t KNOW that its a regular axe, just one we haven’t seen before.
I am hoping it’s Durotan’s axe… How he got it? I have no idea, but it would be neat.
I was 100% convinced he was about to pull out Gorehowl.
Geyah could have given it to him.
Taking the Hellscream family axe after killing it’s previous owner would probably not fly very well in Orcish society.
But it was his best friend’s ax, the psuedo nephew he failed and killed’s ax. It’d work with Thrall I think. Not that there’s a Hellscream left alive anyway.
that we know of. Didn’t Garrosh fancy the Warlord of the Dragonmaw? Didn’t they spend an awful lot of time together from Cataclysm to the end of MoP. Didn’t she doggedly support him in spite the cost? Almost like a mate would to their spouse.
Gee… What would happen if we found out that a Hellscream lives and it’s Garrosh Jr! Heck we have Exarch Hellscream why not just add to the pot?
I’ve been saying Thrall should pick up Gorehowl since he lost Doomhammer. Despite my feelings about Grom, it would be poetic if his legacy went to his “little brother” after his son proved unworthy of it.
She dead. We killed her in UBRS.
We killed her after a few years of her being by Garrosh’s side from Twilight Highlands to the gates of Ogrimmar and finally at UBRS. That doesn’t mean off screen she couldn’t of popped out a Hellscream. Most orc women fight even during their pregnancy and many right after giving birth.
Just like when we found out than Van Cleef had a daughter named Vanessa. We can at some point have a small Hellscream appear leading the Dragonmaw. It would infuriate many, but let’s be honest not unprecedented.
As far as we know Thrall never went to the Vault of Y’shaarj, and nothing indicated that Jaina or Lor’themar took it, so presumably the MU Gorehowl is still down there where Garrosh left it. Or maybe the Shado-pan or the surviving Golden Lotus have it.
The weapon Thrall now carries as of 8.2 is totally unique to him. This does not give the impression it is just any old axe; given its frostwolf clan colors it likely has a history to it which we are currently unaware of.
The axe kinda looks Frostwolfy to me. I remember in one of the bc dungeons you could get a Warsong Howling Axe that looked a bit like Gorhowl but with slight differences and I always wondered if it was some sort of traditional Warsong axe. Maybe this axe is a kind of traditional Frostwolf axe. Maybe it even belonged to Durotan
Maybe Metzen saw Marvel’s Thor having an axe, so asked for WoW’s Thor inspired character to also have an axe!
cough
Well Durotan’s axe would be nice. Especially since originally, Thrall was going to wield his father’s axe as a weapon in Lord of the Clans and Warcraft III before it was changed to Doomhammer.
To be honest, that actually does sound like something the orcs would approve of, taking the weapon of your fallen enemy. Trophy taking is something orcs engage in.
Especially since said family line is also probably dead.
Also Garrosh did toss it aside for an old god copy Y’shaarj made as a thank you.
True, the axe Garrosh wielded when he died wasn’t his Gorehowl, it was the AU one which is still on Draenor.
I’m expecting MU Gorehowl to just show up somewhere randomly at some point.
We need to learn how Malchezaar got his hands on Gorehowl
I figure that’s just an alternate universe Gorehowl. One Legion and all that.
Mostly cause The Shattering revealed Thrall had the MU Gorehowl after Grom died, so Malchezaar couldn’t have had it.
I guess that is Cairne Bloodhoof’s weapon (dont know its name)
Thrall may give father’s weapon to Baine same as he got the doomhammer from Orgrim.
Considering how stupid time travel works when you consider One Legion multiverse stuff, for all we know Malchezaar has MU Gorehowl from the future after Thrall gave it Garrosh, Garrosh abandoned it, and Malchezaar got it in some future where the Legion wasn’t destroyed and then he went back to Karazhan where he did finally die and we picked up MU Gorehowl from the future in the present so there exist two Gorehowls and oh no I’ve gone cross-eyed.
