When I said raid I meant M’ raid 252. That’s on me. That said normal raid gear ilvl should 100% be able to grand and better. Just not the same gear.

I will edit my post if you like

And even I, who is indeed open to 252 gear from World/solo content, was putting it behind a patch long grind.

This is what I am talking about. I enjoy solo content more now, I do still push some group content less and less each year.

agreed

You can grind normal raid loot. Korthia awards normal raid loot ilvl from KT:Sylvanus

Oh, and to those that say that the game was good when it was raid or die: The game was indeed good when raiding provided the best gear, but was the best when that was true yet world/solo/non-raiders still had oodles of content to do.

BC had IQD
Wrath had the ultimate in pug able raids (VoA) as well as badge gear and areas like the crusader’s colosseum (which had daily quests that took you all over Northrend)
Cata had the Molten Front and Hyjal dailies
MoP had IoT, IoG and Timeless, as well as Zandalari invasions
WoD had…The Garrisson (and WoD is considered one of the worst expansions to date)
Legion had The Broken Shore, Legion invasions, Legion Portals, Suramar Questing, the mage tower
BFA (another bad expansion according to some) still had Nazj and Mechagon
SL we have…Korthia, Torghast, and Maw content

Note that not all of this provided gear, though a fair amount did, Raid gear was still the best. I think a lot of the problem is people think if it does not provide gearl the content is useless, or the “raid or die” crowd complained about being forced to do this content so to please them, even fun content, or content that could engage casuals/solo players got cut.

Already giving Casuals high lvl copium.

I did say better, and it shouldn’t take me 6 months. I can almost get pregnant and have the child, by the time someone can grind out a set of " Korthia awards normal raid loot "

It’s not going to take you 6 months to grind it.

Most people were done after a couple of weeks between doing the dailies and the story quest chain.

And even if it did it should absolutely take that long due to how trivial and mindless world questing is compared to organizing and doing raid bosses.

Solo players are never happy until they get bis in the mail it seems.

If they live in it. We both know its not “a couple of weeks between doing the dailies and the story quest chain”

I disagree, why should it take long to due. We are asking for solo content. NOT dailies. I don’t get why this threatens your play stile so much. PvE gear does not does not affect you. You can still raid and do keys.

Uh, the higher levels were gated behind the Codex rep, and that can be a long and painful grind.

Solo players who want to be able to work on their gear will be happy with content that lets them do so, bad/lazy players that hide behind the solo/casual label won’t be happy until they get BS in the mail. The latter I also come down on, I’d rather have players in the game, doing content they like to get rewards they went, but if people refuse to even do the content, I have no patience for them.

They just can’t design enough solo quests to last the 6-9 months that the tiers last. Unless you gate those quests like crazy, you’re going to finish them in a single sitting if you don’t increase the difficulty.

So increase the difficulty, separate the wheat from the chaff and have the group content runners be the premium stuff.

Also: solo content can be the mage tower, solo visions, solo torghast, solo dungeons/scenarios, it does not have to be quests.

It was 2 months per nerf and now it’s about 2 hours.

Even then raid level loot should take time.

Because the primary endgame in this game is group content. If you want group level rewards then you should do group content.

Korthia is there for you to still have progression as a solo player but it’s never going to be fast.

Visions lasted must longer. It gave top ilvl gear. No ones asking for it to last 6-9 months. It doesn’t take most raiders 6-9 months to get heroic or even M gear. AOTC and unsub right.

Mad World FoS here (solo 5 mask) I did not need the gear, and at that point I had the corruptions I needed aside from maybe some minor stat increase ones, but I will admit that like most good content, visions were nerfed by gear and practice/repetition

Visions are essentially a daily if you had the prerequisite mats to run it. Every tier is just a limited amount of content that you run over and over again. The difficulty is what makes it take the entire tier for the vast majority of players.

The problem with visions is that it wasn’t the ilvl you were playing for, it was the corruption. Now that corruption is gone, the ilvl matters now and they won’t hand out top level stuff for simple content.

I doesn’t HAVE to be. That’s the point. I don’t know why you are so hyperbolic, about a change that would be good for all.

Because he is one that does not see it as good for all, only thing that is good in his eyes are things that are good for group content runners.

I mean one of the ideas I have floated is more content like Mechagon, or sand box areas that might provide gear that allows one to do them easier (mech had that trinket that a few of the “gems” only increased abilities or somethign while in Mechagon) anf have yet to see a solid argument against such from anyone.

We know what visions was. I bought and payed for my corruption’s.
