Why not give Casuals high lvl gear?

The only person gatekeeping you is you. There’s a million reasons to not do something.

If you were playing vanilla or BC, you wouldn’t have even reached the level cap playing as you do.

Like Residuum Vendor you could get top ilvl set kinda like set gear gear.

Again I never said getting gear from" for killing a few boar" I said solo content. There is a HUGE reading comprehension problem with this one.

Solo content is impossible to fail. That’s why it doesn’t award anything, other than the single best piece of gear that you’ll get in the entire expansion. You’ve never stepped foot in a raid or done a single key…what do you expect in that scenario? You don’t even have an honorable kill. The only way you’re getting gear is if someone mails it to you.

I’m not sure why some of you keep short-circuiting back to “you want the best gear for nothing!” but it’s kinda lame. This game had Mythic level gear as a potential reward in Legion, which is widely regarded as the best expansion since WotLK, as well as in BFA, just to correct you. Though that isn’t even what is being asked for, so it isn’t terribly relevant.

Better progression paths outside of raids and dungeons is basically all they’re asking for—not copy/pasting endgame rewards onto WQs, or whatever.

Solo content awards you with full epics, a legendary, and it puts you about 20 ilvls below the best gear currently available. That’s not enough?

You’d still be in Westfall if you had played this game when it was good.

This game is not vanilla or BC anymore. Wotlk brought me in with the dks. That southpark episode where they killed all the boars to lvl to max lvl and finally defeat that which has no life made me want to play the game. I suppose I was interested in wow in that you had choices you could make to play the game. Right now those are restricted to mostly premade stuff for the good stuff. I don’t see how me wanting to upgrade like

This I would play and just upgrade that because it’s a fun trinket to valor cap as a side progression with stuff I already do like torgast/wqs/crafting/ and pugging some low keys/heroics/ or anything I want. I don’t see how working towards power rewards is a bad thing doing the thing you enjoy the game. It’s a reason to keep playing. It’s gradual upgrades that can maybe let me solo a rare better, solo and old raid better or just do a dungeon faster. I don’t see why casuals have to soley really on world content for rewards that remain stagnant.

If higher content gave more valor and base ilvl you would still get gearing faster via less valor needed to spend to upgrade to eventual valor cap. ANd if you can upgrade any piece in the expansion and you already had farmed a bis piece you could upgrade that.

This would be when valor is uncapped, enough time passed when progression raids have downed the Jailer already. I don’t see why people enjoying the final patch is a bad thing. Why you only want players to do premade high difficulty stuff to progress if they don’t enjoy it.

Without gearscore and the right achievements, you won’t be playing Wrath.

Uh, he has been playing at least since 2008, would that not be when Achievements were first introduced at the end of BC/early Wrath? And was the game not thought to be at its best in Wrath?

You’re going to be very disappointed with Wrath. You won’t have the gearscore or the achievements.

It’s a way to discredit our arguments. He’s saying we don’t deserve good gear. He’s saying what we do isn’t good enough. That we are playing the game wrong, to go playing other games. That only the things he does is the correct way to play this game. That rewarding skill is the only thing that should happen. And it’s just tiring to hear. I guess I am done for the night. Good night. Everyone enjoy yourselves even Pisaro. I hope this game gets better and they do not only listen to gatekeepers. I enjoy wow for many things, I enjoy what the game used to have, hope they listen. Cheers.

I will play for the gameplay since they don’t really have a collections system. That was introduced in Cata and Legion so I would only play to try out fun builds. Not for progression or anything. Because what I miss from wotlk was some of the fun gameplay.

Mainly I am interested in the fun 3 dk tanking specs for casual pugs. And old hunter gameplay/enh shaman and shadow priest.

I also enjoyed the reps, stuff like the fishing dailies, and wintergrasp.

Solo content is just a step on the progression path to endgame as is. I’d rather see it (not just Solo, but just broader Casual content in general) be a rewarding endeavor on its own. It’s not even really about the raw ilvl of the gear so much as just structuring the game in a way that gives a larger chunk of the playerbase more to pursue and enjoy.

Not sure what the Westfall jab was even about, really.

Funny I just looked and Celyn has KSM, PvP achievements. lolz
But what if and this is an IF, someone wanted to play in Westfall. So what?

Maybe the forum just hiccupped or something, that post showed up as a reply (but doesn’t now) but I’m not sure it was directed at me.

At first, if I was playing Wrath classic if/when it comes out? of course not, but I was there when it was first released, I was there building my character up from 70, I was there grinding reps through dungeons and dailies to get entry lvel raid gear, I was there in Naxx, Ulduar, TotC, ICC as well as VoA, EoE, OS and RS.

A lot of these that are being argued with by the “you don’t deserve gear” crowd have boatloads of achievements and experience in various areas of the game, Yet we are “bad” because we are arguing for certain areas of the game to be made more accessible/provide paths for progress.

I almost think a rule of “if you have less achievements or achievement points, give or take a few, your argument is null and void”. Like with me, since I have over 27000, I might have to be willing to listen to those with 25000, 20000, etc, jsut cause I have so many and it took both time and effort to get some of those.

keep up the good fight-

That is correct, but it’s the first step…not the last.

You know it and I know it amongst many other people not here to discuss it.

They are killing our game bro. I’m with you and have been fighting along with you for many years. It really is in modern terms a fight against gaslighting.

Played since the two betas prior to official launch, haha. Of the many things I can be accused of, not hacking it in older content is not one of them.

Not always easy, as I take that middle ground, check the “Blizzard does not respect player choice” topic for the beating I take when the one complaining is one that is not even doing the content currently in game.
