Hands down the easiest and best class in the game.
I regret lvling a hunter. Mages have it all. Free food n drinks, all their bag slots, spammable CC, perma slows, high dps, ability to aoe grind lvls and materials and make tonns of gold (see Xaryu’s video) and they are in high demand for dungeon groups…
Why didnt i roll a mage… why wouldnt anyone NOT be a mage? (Minus flavour stuff, if you simply dont like mage because its a mage you dont need to reply)

Because you might not enjoy your whole rotation being frostbolt.

Moat of my hunters rotation is the occasional arcane shot weaved into auto shots… all classes are pretty basic.

Competition is the answer.
Yes they perform consistently better as dps. We know this.
I plan on eventually playing a mage, but I like other classes in the game too. I don’t think games have to be hard to be fun either, but what’s the point of playing any game if my priority is always going to be to take the easiest most optimal route, so I can rush to the end and gain as much as possible for as little effort as possible. That to me, just sounds like work.
I like to play for fun. If that means playing a mage when I feel like it sure. If that’s means killing things slowly on another class that’s just as fine to me, as long as I’m enjoying myself.
Optimizing is all fun and good if your in the mood for it, but I’ll never understand why people seem to think you have to only take the perfect optimal route in video games. It’s a hobby, not a second job.

Well someone has to heal and be a mana battery…

Wonder how dungeons would go with 5 mages. Especially where bosses are immune to snares, hahaha…

I was a mage in Vanilla. Been there. AoE’d that. I wanted something different this time around.
But being a mage is awesome in this content. Go for it.
Fast travel. Food and water on demand. Insane uptime while leveling or farming. Really decent survivability given how squishy the class is. TONS of slows and escape methods. All of the tier gear looks amazeballs.
Damage. Damage. Damage.
Yeah. Be a mage.

Actually there is a lot more to that like positioning, using well timed multishots with your auto attack and so on … also if everyone rolled a mage, there will be 0 raids, also Some people like me like the challenge, mages are easy and give me no joy, but maybe that is just me

Not very well. We have a mage in almost all +frost damage gear in our guild that pulls aggro a lot… he has so little health that it’s a gamble any of us healing can save him or not when something so much as passes wind in his direction.

lol serpent sting, auto attack, browse the forums… repeat…
The main reason to not be a mage is that mages aren’t that fun to play. Yeah they are good, but it is also a pretty boring class. Warlocks are a lot more entertaining in PVP.

‘Easiest’ and ‘best’ are not synonymous … YOU may think that Mage is the ‘best’ class because you enjoy it most, however I suspect you think it’s best because it’s ‘easiest’.
The answer to your question is that many others don’t view it like you do.
Ice block, frost nova, blink…
Don’t need health if you don’t get hit

Frost Nova doesn’t work on bosses.

Gave ya a couple other options there champ. Nova would be if you aggrod a trash pack. Obviously the other two for bosses.

Casters are boring in WoW in general, and the Mage is the least interesting of them all.

Play whichever class’s mechanics interest you.
Have fun while playing. Don’t “suffer” for some supposed future benefit. This isn’t a job.
You realise you are in the Classic forums right?

Someone should record a 25 mage MC run. Stand em all on the same spot and watch the bolts fly. It’ll be like a squirt gun, hosing down the boss.
