Simple things have been ask for on the forums for YEARS and we get other random stuff over and over and over. I just dont get it.
Can we get Worgen tails? No
Can dracthyr stay visage form? No
Can we get no scales visage? No
Can we have playable dragons? No
One handed spears? No
Kilts? No
Transmog 1 handers on fury instead of just single minded fury? No
Turn of balance druid form? No
Turn off shadow form priest look? No
Hunter tame (befriend) dragons? No
One handed guns? No
Red skinned nightelf? No
Dk Frostmourne? No
Etc etc etc
Blizzard “Here’s a DDR game mode at darkmoon faire!” “Here’s battle pets!” “Here’s etc”
I dont get it. The base asks for a lot of simple things but it just never happens. The big asks like bring back class halls, a good idea, would take a lot of dev time. I understand. But WHY not just do the small things already.
I’ll throw a bone. AFTER YEARS blizz gave death knight BACK the voice effect. Why was it removed? Who knows. Why did we just now get it back? Who knows.
Drac Hunter and warlock seem to stay in visage form unless Im using flight, so thats pretty cool. Evoker swaps to bat form every time I go into combat.
Prior to the Chinese servers coming back, these forums represented about 0.02% of the playerbase. So even if everyone who has ever used these forums asked for the same thing (which folks really don’t), you’d still not even be at 0.5% of the playerbase asking for it.
And this is before we get into that folks are asking for weird things, are upset about getting those things, pretending those things aren’t it, and then running circles around trying to justify it. In fact, you provided an example of it here:
Full-size dragons? No.
Dragonoids that are too large and would be in the way? No.
Dracthyrs who provide unique customization options and are player-sized? Yes.
People got what they were asking for, but because people don’t get what they are asking for … they feel disappointed about it. You see this over and over again with literally every single thing that ever gets released.
So the reason why you don’t get it is likely because you haven’t actually sat down and thought about it. Because most of the things on your list have a very simple explanations that shouldn’t require any extensive levels of thinking to figure out.
It was in the game all that time. So why was it “removed?” Likely a technical bug of some kind. But we have no idea how the code was like when they added the voice to the game. So it could have been a severe bug, or it could have been a minor one. We simply do not know, but we can with relative ease guesstimate it was a technical bug that caused it since it was, apparently, still available in-game this entire time just not via any menus and it would default back to off when reloading the game.
Most of the stuff that gets “removed” are in reality just bugs. Unless they are stuff that’s actually broken and gets fixed, but folks are used to the broken stuff so fixing it breaks what we are used to and thus it feels like it gets broken that way. A fair few transmog options over the years have been as a result of this, the Valajar Champion’s Greatsword is one of most notorious examples of this.
I want different hair for the human females and different customizations for a lot of different races, etc., and I’ve wanted them and come to the forums with it for YEARS.
But a lot of people play this game, and just because I want something and bring it up a few times every other year with a handful of posters on the forum agreeing with me…it does not follow that these requests represent a large portion of the player base.
Do I want braided hairstyles for human females? Yes. Do a handful of other people on these forums consistently ask for similar things? Yes. Does that mean that a significant enough portion of WoW players share that desire to make it worth the dev time to put on top of the priority list and make it happen?
Sadly, no.
That’s why.
Edited to add: That said—and I meant it—the dance thing is long overdue. /claps hands. Make it happen, Blizz!
I’m leveling one as a mage currently and can stay in my visage form in combat. This is the only reason I’m leveling one. Does that change at higher levels for some reason?
Edit: I googled it and I can stay in visage as a mage. Whew. I don’t mind the dragon form that I made but I just vibe with her visage form more atm.
This is why I hate playing shadow priest. It’s too…shadowy.
WoW is still at its core an RPG. One thing with RPGs are restrictions to races/classes/visuals to enrich the world. These restrictions tell us things about the native races and classes.
Not wanting to strip that all away to be Fortnite isn’t a bad thing.
