Why No Seat of the Triumvirate in S3?

Seat of the Triumvirate seems like a good choice for a season 3 dungeon. Background story for Alleria, Lotus-Walker and the effects of the void.

I didn’t do M+ in Legion so was this not a popular dungeon back then?

One of the worst dungeons of all time and frequently cited alongside Oculus as dungeons that should never be current, ever again.

Oh, and also: To hell with Alleria.

No, it was not.

It was fine thematically and aesthetically as a piece of story content, but as a M+ dungeon to run over and over again? Noooooooooooooo.

They could have made it into a good dungeon if they wanted to. They’ve completely revamped a lot of dungeons that have returned for M+

My guess is that they are deep into working on Midnight dungeons, though, so they went with a dungeon pool that needed a much lighter touch.

Absolutely not.

My favorite Seat story:

I did a lot of low keys in Legion, while chasing titanforging and legendaries. At that time it was common for a lower skilled player with a low key to start a listing in the group finder entitled “My key your carry”, and a group of better players who were looking to improve their BLP would carry you while helping teach you about the dungeons.

I did that with a +2 EoA. The key upgraded to a +5 MoS, everybody’s all-time favorite dungeon. We again 3 chested and again 3 chested to a +8 MoS. We 3 chested again and got a +11 Seat. They were like, “So sorry about your key.” We were all laughing about it.

The dungeon is like, the devs worked hard to decide what players would hate most and shoehorn it in there. Trash falling on your head? Yup.

So rude of her not to port us back to the start of the dungeon after you completed it.

As an M+ Seat was a pain; enemies were spread out all over the place there were hazards that would both harm and slow you and the enemies were very dangerous; really it always felt like it was a couple levels more dangerous then it was relative to other Mythics.

Agree with this. They revamp dungeons all the time to bring them nearer to parity, so the fact that a dungeon was originally not well tuned isn’t much of a concern.

Honestly, it really is too bad they didn’t use it. Thematically, it’s such an obvious choice that should have replaced Halls of Atonement in the dungeon pool.

I believe every season they’ve revamped an old dungeon or two that never had a teleport reward when it was originally out, which I kind of liked in growing a list of new teleport spells to older expansions.

This season, since the old dungeons are only Shadowlands one, seems to me like it will be the first season where they don’t do that (Shadowlands dungeons all provided teleport rewards during that expansion). Since Seat does feel like such an obvious choice though, and they went with Halls (which was well regarded with its design already as an M+), it does make me think you’re right that it’s a sign of them just wanting to put less manpower into it.

I beat they’ve saving Seat for Midnight.

I loved it, in my experience, dungeons with detailed mechanics or that aren’t tuned to be piss easy are never popular with anyone, least of all M+ crowd

Been a while, but wasn’t that one of those dungeons that’s both too open and too long. Which is a mess for m+ since people love to look for the tiniest pixel to sneak past mobs.

Only to pull everything and wipe.

Im gonna say that 8 dungeons per season is not enough.

This was the real killer in Seat - the neverending trash packs that fell from the sky.

Just a flat-out nope for M+.

I don’t even remember that trash.

I remember 2nd boss being kinda tricky with dispel timing or something, then PITA trash skips. 3rd boss having an obnoxious pull-in that was nothing but a mobility test for casters. And then the last ‘boss’ was basically some exploding adds?

Hated it and barely ran it, especially not caring about rio score at the time.

id rather run oculus nonstop then ever do 1 run of seat again

I’m going to be completely honest.

I had never once heard of this dungeon until folks started suggesting it might come in Season 3.

I’ve still never run it. I’m assuming it’s on Argus somewhere.

There is an npc that appears in like 1 in 20 runs only on heroic that drops 2 awesome toys, his name is Vixx the Collector. And from what Vixx says, there could be an unsolved secret.

The toys he drops are called " Vixx’s Chest of Tricks" and " Unstable Portal Emitter"

according to wowhead - 2% of players have chest and 1% have portal.

Thanks for the info everyone!

I liked that one Shadowlands season when we had 10 dungeons.

I remember feeling like the seat hate was overblown and its flaws were overstated. But I have to admit most of my guild would dodge that key if they could.

NO. I hated it. It was bad design.

Ehh, I think it was just overtuned on release, and that was changed after everyone’s opinion was set in stone.

Would take Seat over Ara-Kara TBH.
