Hi Blizzard, and all,
I am really trying to understand the reasoning behind not allowing recrafting orders to be public.
You can do public orders for everything, but now i want to recraft my weapon, and i can only do a personal order or guild order. I dont understand why??
Because of this, the only option is to spam trade chat randomly each day in hopes to find a high level blacksmith that can do it… it just honestly doesnt make sense, please tell me why you cant do public, or even better, tell me Blizzard is updating this :).
I know recrafting can reduce quality, but there is an option for minimum quality so that cant be the reason…

might be due to the fact you need to have the item in the recraft area and can not go off
That could make sense, but I am willing to stand there and wait to see if someone grabs the public order if that’s the case… its still better than having to spam trade chat throughout the day…
Alternatively, if that was the case, I’d also be fine “leaving” the weapon in the public order queue/area, if needed. I mean there are ways to be able to do public orders for recraft I just want to know if Blizzard has thought about this and/or if it will be updated/added in the game

I am the same. Cant even public recraft alchemy gear… Not smart.

The point of a recraft is to make it better. Since public orders don’t have quality settings, recrafting in a public order makes zero sense.

It makes sense to me.
Sure if you just try for a normal recraft of a normal item it might not get better, but it also could. It would be a gamble. But the system does warn you of that when you do recrafting.
But also, if you now have a primal infusion to add, it can only get better. I think the max without one is 392, and the minimum with one is 395.

What would make sense is being able to use Griftah’s Powder yourself if what you need to do it remove an embellishment. Honestly, this system is terribly convoluted and for nor reason other than to make it complicated, therefore time consuming.

Recraft system is broken. It is very difficult to find someone to recraft an item to upgrade to higher level (e.g. with Primal Infusion). I ended up just place another public order for the exact same item with higher level (Primal Infusion) which wasted one more " Spark of Ingenuity".
There should be an option to public recraft, and people who want the best of best can still send personal/guild order with min quality set.
Please fix this broken system asap!

I second this idea. I’m minority faction on a mall server, nothing more boring than spamming trade chat all day to recraft a fishing rod.
Not understanding the system or being in a dead server doesn’t mean the system is broken.
understanding the system doesn’t mean it’s a good system that can’t be improved, either.

They’d have to add minimum quality to public orders first to make recraft orders work and they seem to be stubbornly trying to avoid crossing this line.

If you’re on a dead realm where no one can recraft it then changing the system doesn’t change anything.
It means I can leave it for 2 days instead of having to stand in trade. And maybe an Alliance will complete it.

No. That’s a terrible idea.
It just stays in the rercraft AH when you put in a guild order. It is not visible in your inventory.
