Blizz, you got to fix these things and they aren’t hard…
1: Random BGs - New map was good. Different for a change. Now it comes up
50% of the time and within a few weeks, everyone hates it. You killed it. So bad, that everyone leaves it as it comes up.
2: Rated Blitz BGs - The MMR and pairing are terrible. Win 5 games. Literally, 0 points. Lose the 6th and lose 20 points. What?? You need to fix that. This is not an exaggeration. I played 5 games and got 0 points. I went from 1947 to 1690 in 2 days.
3: CC / Slows - I am all for CC but the game is so fast now (from 20 years ago), that CC needs to be reduced by 50%. I am not talking fear, stuns, etc but more the movement reduction. Its over done and too long. Every fight feels like you are playing in the 1990s lagfest of 200 ping.
4: Bots - Out of control, period.
5: Premades - Now showing up in Blitz and dominating randoms.
On a good note, the balance seems way better than previous expacs…
Afaik, it’s based off how many of your classes and spec are playing, as well as the scores of others.
If it’s a popular class/spec you’re playing, you generally have to do better.
If your team has higher lower score than most on the enemy team, you stand to lose more rating.
But, if you are below everyone else’s rating, the game ‘expects’ you to lose, and if you don’t, you get a huge boost in rating.
I play BrM Monk lately in PvP (already got to 1800 on my SV Hunter and stopped) and I think there’s so few others playing BrM, it’s inflating my score by a lot lol.
And I don’t seem to lose anything when we do lose a match.
CC has been gutted and doing that is the real reason why PVP has been dying. If you don’t like CC then you can kindly quit PVP and stop ruining it for everyone else. Especially movement reduction my brother in christ, melee have infinite uptime and need severe mobility nerfs (and mages).
I also looked you up, you play an ele shaman, one of the few casters that never even has to cast to do ridiculous damage. Kite better.
Watch for certain large Asian guilds running premades in Blitz. You’ll see if you get one on your team and there are 2 or more of them on the other team, the one on your team will dog it HARD. Saw it in 2 matches yesterday.
The answer for why people aren’t doing PvP anymore is that the rewards aren’t there.
TBC, WotLK, Classic, Cata, MoP, etc etc all had top level gear you could get from conquest. It wasn’t perfect stats, but it was top level gear. WoD added all the pvp gear having vers on it. Then for some reason, they decided to have PvP gear “scale” and be a tier lower than PvE gear so there went all of the incentives for people to pug into PvP, unless they really wanted to.
Pvp was always popular in the past that’s why WoW was #1 RPGMMO for so many years , but now WoW no longer have faction wars and Pvp is in the decline. Blizzard needs to pump War back into Warcraft or there might not be World of Warcraft in the future.
wouldn’t say no one but it definitely has some pain points, especially with all arena brackets being hardcapped in rating to the point of apparently 2400 being like the very top end while BG blitz is like 3100+. MMR in general is awful, class balance is awful, and it’s generally unfun with the amount of CC there is if you’re not one of the lucky specs with immunity.
One of the reasons I don’t do PVP anymore is because it’s very stressful and punishing content, and also because some players when they die can’t accept that they lost and try to blame another player, which makes everything even more stressful.
Nah horde just got tired of being the but of the joke, Blizzard has screwed the horde for along time would not be surprised if they just moved on or went to classic.
And I actually prefer the CC meta. Interupts are so much more annoying than CC. There is a lot of CC bloat with the new talent tree, but I dont want to go back to an interupt meta.
I was primarily a pvper for years until this expansion. The problem for me is that the gameplay loop just isn’t fun. Like M+, it just feels stale. Less to do with gear than just not enjoying anything but the rewards.
There’s zero innovation. Nothing really new. I do the same loop, get my elite set, and then what? I realized I was just doing it for the rewards and the actual gameplay wasn’t satisfying.
PvP warfronts could’ve been cool. Maybe more objective-based BGs like original AV (but with an actual end). But as it stands, I’m just burnt out on it.
Don’t see a reason for it. why are we doing bgs when we are no longer at war with each other. If there was a reason I might start doing it again. I enjoy immersion. Doesn’t make since we are holding hands dancing through the tulips everywhere but those very minor areas.
