Why no in-game DPS meter - especially for target dummies?

This kind of attitude will get you no sympathy from anyone, i bet youre the kind of player who does no DPS in your super high +5 & proceeds to call everyone else trash because you’ve “ Been playing since ‘09 “.

Thank you for pointing it out though so i can add you to my black list to ensure i never invite you to a key.

It reminds me of raiders who refused to use DBM because they said it was “cheating” and “they didn’t need it because they were good”. Of course they were the first to mess up mechanics and were never invited again.

A dps meter just shows you a number, it doesn’t help you improve. Knowing your class, build, and proper ability usage helps you improve.

You might as well ask blizzard for a built in rotation helper.

If Blizzard did include a DPS meter, they wouldn’t have to tune classes anymore. All they’d have to do is tune the damage meter. Think about it…………

It does though.

The meter provides specific damage breakdowns onto which abilities are doing which percent of your damage, allowing you to optimize around your strongest abilities to maximize damage output.

So, it is definitely a tool used to optimize damage Mhm.

None of the keys you do require you to be there to complete, esp as aff with lack luster talents and a massive Karen attitude

It is sort of weird that we have them in Battlegrounds but nowhere in PvE. That said, imagine what would happen in LFR if a damage/healing scoreboard popped up after every boss kill.

You have access to the combat log.

If you don’t want to use an addon to do it for you.

Better whip out a calculator.

And there is a function to have a scoreboard for keys because they use it in MDI I believe. I wouldn’t be opposed to it, if they brought that to keys for everyone.

They need to be removed entirely honestly. I don’t agree with every decision made by Final Fantasy, but banning DPS meters was one of the best they made. If you want proof of this fact, just type “toxic” into the search bar of these forums.

Ff14 doesn’t go out of their way to get rid of them either. They just ban you for talking crap to someone about their damage. Tons of people still use damage meters though.
