I was thinking the same thing. Nearly all of my characters use 2H weapons, and it would have been awesome to have something nice with a Winter Veil theme to go with my festive sweater and Santa outfits.
On a side-note, there is a Winter Veil-themed dagger, but the drop rate is abysmal (0.2% on WoWHead).

Off topic: I dislike that dumb moose so much that it’s hard to get motivated to fill the bar. If it wasn’t the Warden set that I’m going to wear on my Nightborne to be annoying I wouldn’t bother with it.

No, no, no. Then they can’t add those items next year to the trading post for 60% of your monthly earnings each. See, this is a common misunderstanding. The trading post does not exist to reward subscribing players, it exists as a FOMO mechanic to force you to subscribe and play (driving up revenue and metrics) and to charge you high prices so you’re always behind and tempted by bundles of extra tenders in the shop in order to have even a chance of keeping your head above water tender-wise.
If they actually gave you things in this manner as a paying customer in a genuinely decent manner then they’d have to put in more work next year to have even more things for you to spend your tenders on. Far better to overprice items ridiculously and drip-feed them so less money has to be spent on the art department.

Feels like they started on adding new stuff for Winter Veil but ran out of time or interest and just said ‘Ook it, stick it in the trading post’. The sword should have at least been the reward for completion, even if not every class can use it. I know they got flack for that in the past but it would have been better than this.

I feel the same way. I don’t interact with battle pets in any way. So this months reward felt like I wasn’t even getting anything.
It’s like the weekly quest on pet week. Just completely useless

The candy canes being swords is just a long list of cool trading post things I ignore because I, as a Shaman, cannot learn how to swing a sword for some reason. A sword is just a big dagger, and I can use those. 0 reason I can’t use swords Blizz.
