Was the most expensive. Tbf the original game with all its class stories is beyond anything wow will ever accomplish in that area. I played the stories over and over just to make different decisions.
But it had a rough launch and it’s expansions are lacking.

I think there’s just a pack of pitchforks sitting outside Robert’s windows 24/7 already.
GRRM is pretty much doomed though. There’s no what anything he writes will ever be good enough for the fan base, ESPECIALLY after the tv series debacle. At this point I can’t blame him for not wanting to put up with the backlash.
People are actually saying New World is a threat?.. LOL
Yeah no, it’s not. The game has a huge identity crisis. It’s changed leadership and scope numerous times. It’s been delayed numerous times. Are they adding more PVE content with this extra time? Yes.
Is that said PVE content going to be engaging? No. They lack vision and focus. The game fundamentally looks and appears to play like a sandbox full loot pvp title (which is what it was created to be) that has a thin layer of PVE content layered over it.
It’s an amalgamation of poor decision making and lack of experienced leadership. Money won’t save this DOA game.

I agree the class stories are real fun

WoW is still alive ,though… so yes, it is true.
…for now.
I mean the term wow killer is just misleading… will new world cut a piece of the cake…no I don’t think it will
MMO Subscribers & Populations - MMO Populations & Player Counts (mmo-population.com)
Old school Runescape just beats out FF14 at the time of me posting this… regardless, WoW is leagues ahead of all other MMOs as of right now
I think New World will probably follow the same cycle that other MMOs have… they’ll have a great first month, numbers will begin to drop off in month 2.
Dota 2 barely stole a chunk from LoL. Probably some original Dota players who quite came back to give it a try, but that is pretty much about it.
I get it.
I suppose those 3 slices of cold pizza for breakfast could be considered a Normercy killer… someday.
Alright I have no idea where OP got the idea that new world was going to try to threaten WoWs title of biggest soul taker of a computer game
However for all those wondering I did play the game on the preview and it’s got one of the best skeletons of any games I’ve played
The game looked amazing, it played really nicely and was an overall really fun experience
It was just lacking content but once they get some meat on the bones of that game it should be pretty fun
Sound design was also amazing; didn’t play anything like WoW and was more akin to RuneScape
For instance when that game drops I’m pretty much going to be spending the vast majority of my lower levels boosting all my trade skills to high hell - the amount of time’s I’d run out of food and potions was insane and I’d need to go back to restock on supplies and craft more arrows and such.
Very different feel from WoW - this game also featured oil that everyone was going nuts trying to get their hands on
That’s population.
Free game has more than sub game.
Obvious is obvious.
I play OSRS on my breaks at work but never subbed.
incorrect, it’s estimated daily users
It’s literally been on top of twitch for years, your entire statement is wrong
The real wow killer will be elden ring.
Because elden ring will kill all other games for the next decade.
Lmao, I thought by new world you meant Shadowlands
The overwhelming majority of RS players are on a sub
You can even look at the tiny number of free players on the server selection screen
Pretty much no mmo will be a “WoW killer” for a long time - even when WoW is one of its worst states its been in the past few years, it still tends to blow most games out of the water even then.
Yeah pretty much that
Anyone making that claim is a fool, I haven’t seen anyone do that for new world yet and if they do they get called a fool

its end game is too sparse. it’s the same thing that damaged other games.
the end game is sparse, people get bored and complain because they’re spoiled by wow, they quit in droves, and then the big soulless corporate owner doesn’t have the patience and foresight to bear down and commit to making the game better. so they pump it with a cash store and plenty of mtx, then basically abandon it for the next big upfront payout.
the problem is always the big corporate interest involved with these other games.
I think it’s still the most popular MMO by a large shot, even when it’s in its worst state - I think it’ll be sometime before a WoW killer really shows up
