I understand this in theory, but who is Blizzard to say how max-level players should be spending their time? I actually enjoy coasting through/carrying heroics for valorstone farming, as I’m not always in the mood to do a M+ (which aside from Worldsoul events is now the most efficient farming method). It takes time & effort to find a competent group for M+, and to farm Radiant Echoes through delves. I dunno. I think they still have a chance to balance this out if they simply put the sum of all valorstones on the end boss instead of the measly 15 currently on offer.
Again, my head cannon is there’s some deve that has too much power and keeps making these stupid changes. That inevitably gets changed or reverted when it proves to be problematic. I remember costing out upgrade cord on weapons last tier and then getting a response from blizzard about it, maybe someone should do that again.
Exactly. I spent a HEAPING amount of valorstones upgrading my heroic level weapon. These are things that need to be taken into consideration.
Outside of maybe one time thus far, crests have been a nonfactor, especially now that an exchange system is in place.
To time gate, simple as.
Blizzard knows this exp is lean, and does not have a lot of mean on its bones, its really obvious to see if you pull back the curtains.
They are trying to pad out content as much as they can.
Not sure why this was necessary? They are already really hard to get… I mean I’ve seen a couple mythic people fully upgraded but that’s just one or two people… The rest of us still need hundreds of them…
They did that because people were farming the first boss in stonevault with followers for valorstones.
I mean at the end of it all you are better off just pushing for gear from mythic plus and road, over upgrading given the drop rates of valor stones. IDK why they have such a hard on to make them harder to obtain but for whatever reason they seem to feel like if they don’t make it take as much effort as possible. The the game will implode immediately, which isn’t true at all.
A lot of world quests give 30-45 and take 3 minutes to finish.
Agreed. I haven’t started my M+ grind so I know realistically it’ll resolve somewhat, but I still find the entire change to be very silly for everyone else, and again for times where I want to be lazy (but that is admittedly a me thing).
Imo its just valor stones. If people wanted to farm em from the first boss on story mode why not let them?
They would still need to farm crests afterall. This change just seems… weird. A play our way type of change.
I really wish they’d just remove valorstones all together. They’re a pain to get when you’re first gearing, and for geared players I’ve run into situations where I have more than enough of whatever level crest but no valorstones because they cost so much and they drop so little.
thats pretty low then wax farming was netting 700-800 hour and about 50k-100k gold from tinderboxes
This doesn’t incentivize staying for the whole run, it incentivizes not wasting time doing normal or heroic dungeons ever again.
Well for people like.you and i, sure. But we’ve never really had a reason to once season starts anyway.
So this isnt really a change
Every system in World of Warcraft is a funnel to get you to buy a token.
Valorstones/Crests? Skip upgrade steps by crafting or buying a BOE heroic piece.
Oh you like mounts? Theres some cool ones on the black market.
Wanna try your hand at professions? Well knowledge will cost ya some hefty mats if you wanna fill those patron orders.
Xmog your gear? Craft a Legendary item? yad yada so on and so forth.
Of course you can farm all this stuff on your own, and some people will, but Blizzard knows many many people won’t. I genuinely believe the crafting system was designed with token sales in mind.
K ill take the tinfoil hat off now.
Most blizz employees are there now just for a paychack and dont even play the game themselves. They do what the higer ranking person who doesnt play their own game tells them to do.
They then quickly cram and read up on the game and play a few minutes to look like they know what they are doing and talking about before they do one of those long winded youtube videos talking about the game the made.
FOR FFS. WHAT THE HELL SMH GODDAM IT BLIZ to hell and back.
You’re not wrong, but you are also not considering that min/maxers consider time-to-travel between world quests.
Who would ever want to call themselves a min maxer though?
