All the tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists in here make me laugh. The change was to address the fact people were using follower dungeons in places like Stonevault to farm Valorstones at a crazy fast pace (like 10/minute).
This sort of constant self-sabotage should tank the game … they have serious addicts though so most will just take it and give bliz more money
Since it’s in the hotfix notes, I’m going to say it’s intentional.
If that’s the case, why nerf heroic dungeons?
What’s your issue with valor stones? I am usually capped …
I meant the amount, not the move to the last boss. But who am I kidding?? Just Daddy Blizz screwing the playerbase again.
Getting pretty tired of this meddling that seems squarely aimed at curtailing sweaty tryhards who play the game creatively for every 0.1% advantage
Probably to get ahead of people adjusting to farm normal/heroic first bosses with groups.
The least they could do is make them a transferrable currency…
The fact that they didn’t get rid of the concept of flight stones altogether is insane.
Nope is the same. Guess I am done with this season. Already have some real life stuff to do so don’t plan to even get KSM but nerfing valorstone from even heroic dungeons?! Yea that’s not going to well with casual like me so is going to be doing low m+ and heroic dungeon mainly.
welp looks like raiding is the way to go again crud
I’ve had seven evenings now since launch where the lag (literally 3, 4 or even 5 second delays between using an ability and it actually happening in game), and DC’s were so bad, I essentially couldn’t play. I mean, I couldn’t even fish!
Yet the rest of the evenings, everything is fine with no DC’s and my normal 24-26 ms latency. Never had this type of lag or DC’s during Dragonflight.
When it’s really bad, I just log off for the rest of the night, as I’m not going to waste time frustrating myself.
If Blizz is trying to get me to spend time on other games instead of theirs, it’s working.
/moo
FF does it by making alts unnecessary.
1 character can be every job/class.
Downside is, their gearing and personal expression is terrible, with gear being essentially useless in 99% of the content.
Its simple, it seems that blizzard wants people to have to exert effort for reward - this means that its more efficient to do what is considered to true end game content by most of the community (M0, M+, and Raids).
why would they remove the drop off dungeons? just why?
another of the decisions from people that’s not playing the game…
It really seems like one hand has no Idea what the other one is doing at Blizzard.
I view Blizzard planning and development for wow as committees that may represent the faction of their own choice. These factions as I see them have different and sometime competing goals. Some factions want to increase the player population by making parts of the game more casual-friendly, while others think that increasing the difficulty at all levels will force casuals to “adapt”. That they will have no choice but to “git gud”, and they’re too clueless to notice they are being manipulated in this way.
At some point the competing goals must be resolved before designs can be developed. So yet another committee goes through and puts some of what each faction wants into those design goals. Which of course satisfies no one, including the players who are puzzled by monkey paws that claim to be giving but seem to be a net loss.
Sometimes one faction gets exactly what they want and the other gets none of their goals into the final plan. Since little consideration is given to what might increase the interest of different player demographics, sometimes Blizzard seems to be surprised by rejection of their pet projects by the playerbase, who they blame for, I don’t know, being wrong in not paying for a game they no longer find to be fun?
I think they have spent way too much effort and energy into trying to increase the elite demographic by taking feedback from streamers and content creators and trying to find a way to turn casuals who play the game as a pastime into hardcore hypercompetitors. But they’re not willing to accept the playerbase they have.
Who cares about normal and heroic dungeons?
For people who are gearing up it matters. You need to get higher ilvl gear to get into M0 at the very least. But now it takes way longer for you to upgrade your gear since you need valorstone to upgrade your gear and valorstone drop rate is greatly reduce in the content you are able to do which is heroic dungeons and open world content. So blizzard once again is rewarding players who rush to get pass the heroic/open world content but punush those who didn’t push their character or didn’t get the epic verson of the game to have the 3 day early access.
Too many casuals running around with 600+ ilvl without setting foot in a mythic, probably.
Is that why blizzard broke devles on purpose? Is that why some of the dungeons is tune very very hard for M0? what’s next? making pvp harder to farm so players can’t get PVP gear?

In that case keep the valorstone gain the same but it will only drop valorstone from the end boss. So no more 10min run and people still get the same amount of valorstone per nerf. Simple fix.
