Why must I use Wake of Ashes?

I will never spec wake of ashes with my ret pally so my only horde char will go unplayed this next xpac, proly season 4 too.

Many of my friends and family have been burned IRL and I will not do it.

PS:; Human Pallys are just spam in a can.

Tauren paladins are Corned Beef in a can that means

You don’t have to use wings either. You can spec right around it. Doesn’t stop the class from being balanced around you having it though.

Op you dont play content to the level in which it would make a difference so what does it matter?

Avenging Wrath and Wake of Ashes are certainly required talents 100% of the time. They’re quite accessible, but it does bring into question as to whether or not they should actually be “talents”.

Ugh, why wouldn’t you want to use wake? Like seriously…

I cut my hand once so I refuse to use swords.

I had my skull crushed by a hydraulic press, so I refuse to use bludgeoning weapons. Or hang out in gnome cities.

you don’t have to but that means u’ll have different secondary stat build

I agree, “optional” end talents shouldn’t be required. That is why we have the first gate talents, that are required to take…

Maybe move wake to where FV is at. swap them around.

yall know that op is t rolling right? its obvious hes making fun of people who dont want to take wake aka the most iconic ret fantasy ability thats further the gameplay engine.

Wake is even further up on the tree as of the latest Alpha change. Time to WAKE up fellas…

Wake is being moved to SoV’s slot

glad It’s being moved. But we lose survivability for it now? Making SoV/divine protection a choice is a bad move.

On the contrary it’s a reasonable move since ret is u reasonably bulk due to sanct plates and soon a 5% dr from the templar tree. They could stand to nerf sanct plates tbh

I’d rather not pick up that talent, armor is nerfed in pvp, AoE reduction is useless to people that knows to not stand in fire, and there is better talents to use besides a 6% stam increase for anyone that is not a tank.

That is points I could use to increase my utility or dps healing of ret.

aoe reduction isnt just “dr on stuff frontals” its everything like rot damage, aura damage, cleave damage from tank busters. stam is also a huge defensive and dps gain from sov, armor is very strong in pve cause some unavoidable damage is physical

my dude, you gotta stop nerfing yourself from lack of knowledge and learn the ins and outs of ret and content

I know darn well what AoE’s are. I never asked you on that. Learn your place mr. rude. I see that talent for people who don’t know how to avoid mechanics, with maybe the exception of specific mythic+ affixes, A player can be more effective without it even.

SoV in TWW looks like an optional talent now, so if a person chooses not to be suicidal on toxical dps mechanics they can choose to.

??? dude

theres alot of unavoidable mechanics that is effected by avoidence and plates. some of which are physical so armor works. its not a hard concept to grasp. hence why avoidence is giga good teritery for people who push high end keys

i mean, its optional sure but its still gonna be the most viable option. having another button that can be used defensively is good. plus its a strong dps option

It would have been cool if Avenging Wrath was a choice talent with some passive that just added blanket 10% damage buff. Would have been a trade off between having ability to focus burst to a window and just splattering it throughout the timeline… Would have been cool to have a more sustained build option in general.
