Why make 4 minute fights into 30 second fights?

What some don’t understand is that there are many people who want to play with friends and family, and I am one. But friends and family all come with various levels of skill.

I was a sweaty mythic runner - 20+ keys every season, got to myth ras prog as an arcane mage before I finally burnt out.

My family and friends, particularly spouse, tried retail but mythic was far too difficult. It wasn’t just difficult, but overwhelmingly stressful to them. Some people love the adrenaline rush of stress, others do not. I couldn’t get them to stay.

I eventually got lonely in retail because as I made friends, I lost friends just as fast. My guild imploded on myth raz due to BS drama, and half the guild transferred to another server, and that was it for me. I was already pretty lonely, and on my way out.

I swore I’d never come to WoW. Yet, here I am. Why? Friends and family came back and pulled me in. If they leave (which will happen if content is made too stressful), so do I because I can’t justify spending a ton of time in a game without my spouse.

Making content too hard screws diversity in the game. It quickly kills the population for the reason above, and similar reasons.

It goes both ways on the forums.

If you ask for a leveling dungeon in retail to be more than chasing the tank while he solos the place 2 shotting all the mobs not needing any of the 4 other people it gets responded with “go play classic.”

The forums have always been a cesspit.

nah you’re wrong, it’s way more fun to just blast him down and move on quickly. This is coming from some one who killed HLK with 0% buff.

No one wants to spam frostfire bolt over and over and over for 4 mins stop kidding yourself.

TLDR

Just the kind of people that would put their warcraft logs in their CV thinks the raid should be harder.

it should not.

tyvm.

Please read the first post in this thread. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with difficulty.

Easy raids are great. But we also want them to be fun. The bosses now are incredibly boring because they die before you can enjoy any mechanics. This sucks for both casual players and hardcore players. Everyone loses with boring fights.

Okay, just unequip half your gear. Problem solved. Your just too good at this game.

and not catering to them with the bs that was gnomeregan lead to a sharp decline in Phase 2 so between a game that people “hate” but play and the “right” game thats bleeding players the choice is obvious.

Of course, Blizzard often overdoes it into either extreme, but the intention is good, keep raids accessible or see the servers die. They just went overboard this time.

I wish they’d left the original difficulty in with a toggle or something, but then thats “retail design” and people like you would be whining.

I’m actually in agreement content that is too hard is bad. But what I’m not getting from xandraconehead is, is there a raid that’s too easy, and are we there? I’d say yes we are

Of course not, but to use your example, I’m not telling management to make the part-time employees work full time hours just because I like doing so, either.

well with either scenario its an option if the people want to listen to management and do the work. there always is so…

Citation needed.

I understand that toxic casuals will say “tHIs iS a leVeL Up rAId”,

Huh? “Toxic” casuals? That’s like… not a thing. You’re just making that up.

Toxic behavior can come from any side of an equation.

It’s like saying that toxic femininity does not exist because it’s usually associated with toxic masculinity: it’s an idiotic belief that is simply wrong.

Go back to school.

the funniest thing is ppl think parsing matters in these 30sec fights. parsing in classic wow is meaningless. I did parse 99 with 2-3 buttons, lol wtf ? It’s all about preparing stuff like wb and consumes also A WHOLE TEAM helps you to parse.

why are you guys still arguing?

Aggrend already told you to go back to retail

Individual Parsing doesn’t matter period. Its not a reflection of high skill, if anything, its more useful to determine the floor so people know how to improve.

Otherwise, parsing is just a huge time sink, not necessarily skill. For some points, it comes down to RNG too.

When we went for individual parses in retail, it was 1 to maybe 2 people at a time who the raid built entirely around so they could exploit the strengths of their class to get the best parse.

For those going for a parse, they usually get to ignore mechanics too.

You see that in SOD, and you also see the need to kill a boss in 30 secs as most classes have a major CD or are given a major CD to pop off, beyond that scenario, rng plays the biggest factor from there (crits/procs). Then when boss is dead, everyone logs off to save buffs and wait for major cooldowns to come back up, rinse, repeat (and/or they just focus one or two bosses a night)

if you are parsing blue/purple in an average casual guild, you are doing well enough. Many times boss fights are long, so more mechanics to do, raid comp is off, people aren’t debuffing the boss or keeping/running group buffs…it is what it is.

The bosses still go down regardless, as streamers have proved in gnomer (lol that x guy was hilarious)

People have parse brain rot from playing this game too long. Just a bunch of sweaties high fiving themselves over things 99.9% of the other people playing the game don’t care about.

Lots of low parsing cope in this thread.

What mechanics, standing with your back to a totem? I’d rather not spam my rotation for 4 minutes straight thanks.

The only people I’ve really seen who’ve had their logs checked in these threads are tanks. Thinking most tanks who play this game care about how much damage they do is the brainrot I’m talking about.

They should care.
