Why LGBT representation in games matters:

“Are you in favor of LGBT characters getting to be in the spotlight for once in this game or not?”

No, I believe in the value of individuals, not groups. I’m not an identitarian obsessed with identity politics, you clearly are…

I don’t care what the sexual orientation of a character is. I just want that character to be interesting.

If your top priority is what that character likes in the bed room, I feel incredibly sad for you as a person. And I wish you find more purpose to life than that.

And there’s the typical troll response. Not responding to anything else I said.

There you have it indeed…

What more do I have to say to your response?
You don’t want LGBT characters in the spotlight when it’s morally right representation.

“What more do I have to say to your response?”

You can try actually responding to it for starters, outside of plucking out a single word.

There must have been 100 words in that response. You quoted literally 1 of them.

And you wonder why I’m calling you a troll?

How is Pelagos even trans? Didn’t he just get reborn into that body? Gay or not, boring cry baby character and easily forgettable.

You could have said a million words.

There’s no excuse for not representing LGBT in media and games. Period.

There’s still no excuse? Here’s one.

1 in every 3 trans people commit suicide, the highest suicide rates in the nation.

Do you think a group of people killing themselves in record high numbers is worthy of a conversation or should we just start looking for that spotlight?

I tend to think the safety of people in society, you finding out why people are killing themselves, takes priority over representation, unless of course you think people dying is not important.

Oh god dont bring this crap up. People like the game cause its fantasy. No one cares.

I’ll take this in a different order -

You want representation. Not we.

Pelagos is hardly a backseat character since, as soulbind and needed for advancement in the Path of Ascension, you have already proven don’t quite have a handle on this whole thing nor understand the significance given here.

Like I said before, you lost all credit when you ignored Pelagos, who is straight exposure to the entirety of the WoW community right in the beginning of the Shadowlands story line.

Your own ignorance in all your arguments or comments on this issue shows that you don’t speak for the LGBT community.

Talonel obviously decided to ignore the fact that Evania literally said she doesn’t care who is in the spotlight here. Evania doesn’t care about the characters sexually orientation as it doesn’t matter to the story for them. Thus, Talonel is just a troll who is picking and choosing what to hear.

TALONEL DOES NOT SPEAK FOR THE LGBT+ COMMUNITY!

I DON’T SPEAK FOR EVERYONE, BUT GIVEN THE NUMBER OF POSTS IN SUPPORT OF THIS OPINION “WE DON’T GIVE A CARE ABOUT THE MAIN NPC CHARACTERS ORIENTATION AS IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL” IS THE GREATER OPINION IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE WoW COMMUNITY!

Everything you say seems like made up nonsense. Your entire world view is distorted made up nonsense.

Your view of gender is made up nonsense.

So… even if gender-based rights should be protected, why the shouldn’t sex-based rights of a population literally physically weaker and less able to politically defend themselves from affronts to their dignity?

It doesn’t matter at all.

Acting like it matters is just teaching people to focus on single dimensions of people rather than the whole picture. Sexual orientation is not important in general, let alone in my free gaming time.

That being said, I could care less if literally every character in WoW was gay. It Doesn’t Matter.

Just stop. It is a game. Can we please just leave it a game. How could we possibly know the sexual orientation of toons and non-toons anyway. IT DOES NOT MATTER.

I’m gay myself and I cannot care less about “representation”. If an lgbt character suits the story then so be it, but forcing representation and inclusion is frustrating for everyone else. Don’t speak for all of us.

Okay I’ll chime in here for a very good reason. First off many seem to think that getting changed is somehow going to make things better than it was. The sobering reality it’s NOT cause what ever mental issues or body diaspora you had is NOW magnified and doubled with a whole host of new issues once that honeymoon phase is done.
Now you have family friends co works jobs medical and the big one RELATIONSHIPS. Even I can attest to the last one MOST MEN will not touch you MOST women will judge you. Some become disillusioned with the transition and become unhappy when they find out you can’t go back.

Most of the time I am fine with what I did but there are those days I honestly think to myself was it the correct choice? We didn’t really have the choices today trans have. The Fact is the UK is looking at some major lawsuits from children who think they were betrayed.

In what way would you have a characters sexuality be a topic of conversation in game? Are we gonna just relegate them to leveling quests where we gotta find their love and save them from a pack of wolves? Congrats! You just shoehorned your position into a 10 second quest text read. It’s world of WARcraft, peoples sexuality aren’t the main focus of anything in this game.

I’m Bi, i don’t make sure every person I’m going to interact with today knows it and base my self-worth on their acceptance of it.
