The point is making an assumption on someone based off where they live falls under the same umbrella as assumptions on people who live in the ghetto.

No… It’s not. Ghetto has historically racist implications because it’s where many predominantly white cities would put minority groups to enforce segregation. They were often impoverished and rural because of segregation and institutionalized racism.
So no, it’s not the same.
