Why layers Should return...?

You know, i really can’t think of a good reason…
I know bots and herb farmers love earning more gold now, and “griefers” enjoy sitting in one spot ganking everyone on one sided servers.

Besides the somewhat Crippling lag that happens for a couple of hours every day in major cities there isn’t much major benefit… layer swapping for buffs was abit of a pain for Onyxia… but helped in all other cases… consider the “Mega server” status of my server (Argual) having two layers helped keep costs down as there is NOT enough supply to meet the demand of a higher population with just one layer.

But as for the rest… it could make do… we’d live if nothing currently changed and we remained laggy at peak time.

But it certainly would be nice to hear from the Dev’s who make choices from upon high who aren’t even brave enough to Admit when they MASSIVELY screwed up by removing layers and giving us a 4-5 hour queue to raid.

It would be lovely - in the name of “being open and talking with the playerbase” which was promised by Blizzard so many times we’ve lost count… if we could open a dialogue discuss these issues and their effects.
Certainly i can tell you most of my server doesn’t feel listened to.

Transfer.

You dont get to have the benefits of a mega server without the downsides

Did you read OP?

I agree, OP. The removal of layers is manageable but the way it was done was appalling.

Sounds like an over-reliance on layers to me. The way it should have been done was none at all

We have no layers. OP was made in regards to the lack of communication on the topic and how they made a huge decision right before going home for the weekend.

Personally, I can live with the city lag and lack of world resources. Playing on Arugal is worth the downsides of playing on a mega server.

Although 60g a plagebloom stack is a bit ridiculous. Increased world resources would be nice but I’m not going to make demands in regards to it.

I’m happy and I love my realm.

I love the guys that just say well transfer. Either you have not played for a year now on the same server made friends and a name for your character, or you just like to troll and be negative towards people’s concerns. The amount of adult-children actually harassing other players and down playing concerns or ideas they may have so harshly, is incredible to say the least. The simple truth is that yes xfering would solve 1 issue only to cause another. There needs to be a layer added now to solve a lot of the problems in the open world. it would be nice to not need layers I agree, but unfortunately the damage is done and it needs to be addressed by blizzard not the player base.

not taking the free transfers that were offered to reduce the population of the over crowded server.

why do you want to change the game?

but thats what they do. reminds me of pre-pathfinder wod.

60g a stack is a bit much for me, but i can only imagine how cheap other high level mats go for.

Any mat that can be farmed inside an instance repeatedly is plummeting in price. Any mat limited in world resources is skyrocketing.

Another Arugal thread. Move along - nothing to see here.

It’s really simple actually. Consumables are way over priced. They’re so expensive it actually encourages gold buying and a variety of other things that aren’t good for the game. They’re going to get even more expensive for naxx. Layering solve this problems hands down on mega servers. Resources are too scarce for the population size.

What are the downsides to layers? As far as I can tell there are none. See how that works?

Why should mega-servers have all the benefits of one without the burdens of it?
Blizzard owes it to the players on those realms?

With layers, full servers aren’t playing the same game as the rest of us.

Blizzard promised players layers would be removed at the very beginning of their release.

They also told players to leave mega servers when the game was released and join newly created servers a few days after release. Told players there would be a massive q if they remained on those servers.

Later they gave free transfers and told players, hey you should probably move off the mega servers or you will have issues.

They removed layers. And everything they promised came true. I would have to say they did an excellent job in calling it out. Maybe not so much on the release point, but everyone makes mistakes, they tried to fix it, players didn’t listen.

Their fault for not having more servers on release.

Blizzard thought nobody actually wanted Classic. They had no idea layers would become a necessity.

Removing layers on the only oceanic server with AQ gates open while also opening transfers to the server when they had just needed a third layer in the ten hour war seems like absolute insanity to me. How could that not be a disaster?

They scraped off the bandaid with a cheese grater… and of course they did it on a Friday afternoon.

Git gud? Jk. But I think they’ll raise caps again anyway.

Nice knee jerk post. Your post was more generic than OP’s, you don’t even know what you’re reeing towards.

I kind of feel like they already have. Haven’t had a queue since the first week of AQ on Mankrik. Haven’t had to wait 10 minutes for Rend to actually drop either.

OP was critiquing Blizzard’s lack of communication and their late response to at least temporarily increasing server cap.

They made no mention of asking for more benefits.

I read the post fully and understand that it’s a “more respectful and thought out” post than the normal Arugal post, however I will, and am, going to write it off. Just like I do with posts about Faerlina - that community is just that bad.
