Why keep screwing over BM?

so wait, I thought you all were talking about frenzy. this is why you don’t comment on specs you don’t play lololol. I stand corrected

Probably means a drop in dps if you’re unlucky with procs yikes (higher bw uptime if you get them)

Supposing you have a 40% uptime of BW and your dot ticks for 3k and you get 100 ticks of dmg off.

Before the change, that would be 300k.

With the change it’d be
40(3,000x0.9x1.25) + 60(3,000x0.9)
= 135k + 162k
= 297k

So, a slight nerf.

Because BM has always been Blizzard’s favorite punching bag. Our class is supposedly soooo easy because we are a “4 button” spec, according to the masses. In reality, there’s so many more buttons to push and a lot more thought than simply standing there and going through a rotation. Don’t tell the average everyday non-hunter(or even some hunters) that though!

That’s not even remotely how this works… You can’t just hold all of the other variables constant because it helps make the point you want.

It’s just history that won’t go away combined with, in my opinion, a desire for Blizzard to not let history repeat itself. BM was indeed about the easiest spec/class combo to play for awhile. That, combined with all the wipes caused by bad hunters (accidentally shooting the wrong mob, breaking sheep with poorly-timed, multi-shots, not turning growl off, and so on) mixed with pet pathing issues and other hunter-specific game bugs, etc., created a reputation that persists to this day.

The other issue is that there were just far, far too many hunters being played for much of WoW’s early history. Hunters are now the third most-played class at max level, but for a long time they were #1 by a sizable margin, probably an uncomfortably sizable margin for Blizzard. One way to ensure that this doesn’t happen again is to ensure that hunters never top global dps charts again.

Another way of looking at it, the hunters that are causing these issues today are Alt-Hunters of people who main other classes. Having played this class since 2004, I know my class in terms of my abilities and my job functions.

Now, that said, I also not how to exploit my classes abilities for both good and evil…just depends upon my mood which is usually established by the group I am with at the time.

I’ve been playing Hunters since October of 2005. I don’t have a specific main at this time but this particular hunter I guess would be closest to a main. My oldest Hunter is an Orc. I have been through so many patches, expansions, and changes. I never thought Hunter to be the best but I didn’t care. I play what’s fun to me. Hunter Pride!!

nuh uh :stuck_out_tongue:

It means we’re going to move ever so slightly towards bursty from our current stable output. The overall output should not change.
But we will be affected by some RNG resulting from using our CD at inopportune time and losing more DPS, just like any CD-reliant bursty specs. But less so than them.

Someone at Blizzard hates us.

It’s weird that apparently Blizzard hates every single specs and class that isn’t the current Flavor of The Month spec/class.

Yup pretty much this, still remember i think it was last month when Warlocks got that trait nerf.

“Waaah waaah Blizzard hates Warlocks!”.
