hi all - genuinely curious as to why vdh isn’t better at world pvp. Everytime I come across one they just die very fast. On paper they seem to have everything - decent damage, heals, shields, mobility, magical mitigation, some utility. feels like they’re similar to say a prot paladin which is great in world pvp. I admittedly haven’t played geared vdh at length and would love some insights.
I’ve literally never died in world pvp as a vengeance… if I’ve died its because i jump off a side and forget to glide. oops
hmm… I’m not sure why the veng i come across do not do much to me either on ret, havoc, or fury. They never do any damage and the self heals are so minimal. What are you doing differently?
Well vDH have to apply ‘Spirit Bomb’ on you and gradually chip away. So if are a ret, all you have to do is pop wings, hammer and laugh. But if your stun isnt up you’ll have a hard time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DctFMjplvVo
what about in wpvp environment?
Use Spirit Bomb as your damage ability, it hits very hard with 4-5 balls. Follow it up with a zero ball Soul Cleave. Fracture and Immolation Aura to generate resources.
Keep in mind you also have a fear, silence, stun (Illidan’s grasp, talent), kick, and a cyclone (Imprison, with talent). Your toolkit is fully capable of killing most classes, including the very difficult ones with stuns – rogues, paladins and destruction warlocks.
Retribution paladins can only kill me if they significantly outgear me by 40 item levels or outlevel me by 4-5 levels.
Simple i never really pvp so im not good so if i die probably someone better than me. TBH though i actually do last awhile if i do get jumped or try some pvp for some funsies. And won some matches even. If i had time to play more id probably be good
I dunno about you, but I find Vengeance to be extremely good for world pvp. I can take just about any 1v1 in world pvp, and often win a lot of 1v2s or 1v3s. Vengeance is extremely strong in world pvp. I’m not really sure where this post is coming from.
to be honest it may just be the vdh’s I’ve come up against on my ret and havoc being bad. i honestly don’t know the toolkit well enough hence checking with people who have had experience with vdh in wpvp.
Vdh can only die if u get him on stun when wings is up. Any good vdh will kite u to the moon with slow with sigil, stun (pvp talent), fear , silence, imprison. U wont have single uptime of ur wings on vdh. If u stun him and pop wings, he will immediately trinket and start chain cc u or jump out of u. And if that vdh talented to spirit bomb and fracture, it does good damage with healing. May be the vdh u were fighting isn’t experienced enough.
