I think Blizzard should implement some kind of system to commend good players in dungeons/raids/pvp. FFXIV has one and it’s pretty nice to get some kind of positive feedback from other players in your party, especially if you’re a tank having to deal with some jerk who keeps pulling. It would also be helpful when you have players in the party who all speak different languages.
I commend good players by talking to them and/or adding them to my friends list.
Every one of my toons has a stack of these to pass out to deserving players I run across, which gives a 24 hour buff to remind them that I thought they were awesome:

define good player sand define how this system wouldn’t get abused by people just trying to make themselves “look good.”
I tell my team good work, and compliment people doing really well specifically quite a bit. We are allowed to talk with each other and say nice things.
Partially true, but we still have emotes, and this is good encouragement to learn some phrases in other languages. c:
we really need a commendation system. people like rewards so tie it to that. mogs/toy etc.
people might act better if they have a reason to actually be nice for once lol. sad but true.
I was just about to ask in a Topic if a person thinks they’re the good person when playing? Do you stop to help in dungeons, or when you see someone in open-world about to die?
I help wherever I can. The few dungeons I’ve tried I’ve mostly been helped or ignored (which I think is their way of not kicking someone who is just learning). Once I just hung back because the healer was getting mobbed and the tank and other over geared players just left her behind. I was slowly loosing my life and when she healed me after the tank got ticked.
I wonder, do some of you players, in general, think you’re the good guys?
Commendations in XIV are worthless, and everyone who actually has played the game longer than a year knows it.
People will commend for anything, or not even commend at all and just instantly leave the dungeon when it’s over. I’ve personally comm’d someone in an entirely silent party, simply because I liked their glamour or thought their character looked nice. People auto-commend tanks and healers just because they’re at the top of the list. It’s why anyone who wants mentor status (which seems as much of a joke here as it was in XIV) will play on a tank or healer.
Doesn’t matter how good or bad they are, they get commendations roll in simply for being the role. I know because in my entire journey through getting over my tankxiety back when I played, I got comms nearly every dungeon run just for being the tank. Even when I sucked at tanking.
The system itself is a whatever thing - I could take it or leave it. But if you’re wanting it to ‘leave feedback’ for people… just say it out loud? I’d personally rather have someone directly tell me “Hey, you were an awesome [insert role here]! Hope to play with you again sometime!” over a meaningless ‘You received a player commendation!’ notice in my chatbox that I’m likely going to overlook anyway.
I dont know why you think this would make people act better, though?
If you listen to the forums good players are a myth.
kinda like xiv, they get rewards after a certain amtn of comms. if you even say hello or just be kind during a run, you might get a commendation. less ppl spitballin each other. not saying everyones suddenly gonna be nicer but prolly less bs but knowing wow prolly not lol.
I guess I dont see how it will change anything at all.
If anything, I can see it making people be more aggressive to get commendations.
The one life-changing trick that Blizzard doesn’t want you to know, lol.
That is a good point, when no one is even doing anything beyond a bot activity and then people hit the button at the end, I can’t say it would be a great feeling. I would guess those just become an expected action like saying ‘Hello’, it’s the thing people say about FF of it being artificial kindness.
But talking leads to conversations and then I’m trapped.
Qamaits is on to us.
Abort.
Abort.
This.
The best way to commend somebody who does well is that you bring them again next week.
"Commendations in XIV are worthless, and everyone who actually has played the game longer than a year knows it. "
I’ve played since 2.0 lmao… yeah to some degree it gets abused but that’s just a poor attitude.
“The system itself is a whatever thing - I could take it or leave it. But if you’re wanting it to ‘leave feedback’ for people… just say it out loud?”
I would like to refer to my previous statement of not everybody speaks english?
It would cost a raid tier.
-Blizzard, probably
I commend people by telling them I love them uwu
