Every server is dead
There is no point in leveling in any server since everything is empty
Why isnt there ONE fresh server for everyone that has the itch to play can go and level there?
I want to play Classic, but I cant… everything is dead. I’d be leveling ALONE in a world where grouping is needed

fresh fresh, hurry hurry lover come to me
I’ve been playing with my IRL friends and we’ve been having a blast
Mining in low-level areas has been a dream, I’ve never had to compete for a node.
You are concerned about realm populations but creating a new server doesn’t spontaneously generate more players in that world. By choosing to not play, you realize this is a self-fulfilling prophecy that are willingly comitting, right?

That’s exactly what it does. People come out of the woodwork when a fresh server goes live. The fresh realm “Skyfury” dropped before Wotlk came out and is a good example piece of how fresh realms attracts pretty large masses.
People are starting to realize this to a degree, thats why Classic Era has found a little more success these days.

If your claim were true, then continually making more servers would generate more and more players. No, players choosing to log on is what does it. You are misaligning the primary Cause and Effect.
fresh servers bring in more players
yeah if you made 100,000,000 fresh servers it would probably have diminishing returns
this is not the ‘own’ you think it is

I loled at “own”
Yeah by making new fresh servers, human beings do not just spawn out of thin air ready to play fresh.
But it should be quite obvious that people want to play a fresh start and not on a stagnant server.

Fresh servers are attractive as every player starts at the same equal playing field and the first couple of months are usually the most fun in my opinion. I would totally do the vanilla pre-raid bis and raid progression all over again. Bring it on!

More rubbish. This ‘equal playing field’ talking point evaporates as soon as any player enters the world. By virtue of human nature, individual playstyles, and the hard-coded RNG inherent in RPGs, the second player to enter is not on the same field as the first, nor is the third to the first & second, etc.
Cognitive dissonance has blinded you to causality.
No matter how hard you try to convince players that era is fresh, they ain’t coming to play with you

Yes it’s not total equality, you will have players hitting level 60 in a week and more casual players hitting the cap two/three months later. On average though as a whole the players are leveling together, gearing up together and world PVP is at it’s best as well.
Everyone I know agrees that the first few months of the new server are the most fun, and this is what people want if they are to come back to Vanilla. Just looking at this forum alone there is enough of a player base.

My point is that creating another realm doesn’t generate the qualities/activities that users on this forum are espousing. It can all be done on realms that are already present.
The only true function spinning out a new server does is allow more folks to play if the current realms are full/locked.
I think if Blizzard announced what they are planning to do with SOM2 or Fresh, it would help a lot of people make the decision.
If I knew there won’t be Fresh or SOM2, I would definitely start a character on the current servers. I think for me personally knowing there is a possibility of Fresh/SOM2 is what’s keeping me starting a character on Era. I just don’t want to put the time into a character knowing in few months they might release SOM2 and I’ll move to that.
I guess with all these discussions and opinions we all agree that we want some sort of communication on the future of Era/Vanilla/SOM servers.

Don’t fall into the trap of trying to reason with Despitebeing. I had to mute him on forums after it all. He just spouts illogical arguments, fallacies, and misquotes people to try and drive traffic to era servers.
