You’d think that with Neltharion being their creator they’d have strong ties to the black dragonflight yet there’s only 3 black dragon spells I see and 2 are talents, I’m wondering if they had plans for a full black dragon tanking spec earlier on but cut it due to time/whatever else reasons.
Feel free to tell me if I’m wrong, I’m a lore nerd so I’d appreciate the knowledge
Dracthyr feel betrayed by Neltharion by the time they reach faction capital cities. I’m sure the devs can fall back on that as a reason they don’t have much black dragonflight stuff.
i am thinking they did this due to the dk at first being 3 tanks specs
with the DH tank dps
the drakes its heals/dps
i am thining they are trying to avoid the 3 specs from hero classes after the dk one
I chose to look at it like, Deathwing already had the black dragon flight or assumed he would in whatever this coming event is. So, why recreate assets he already had access to?
It was powers based on the other dragon flights that he couldn’t assume the loyalty of.
earth warder spec sounds tanky. maybe they’ll add some day. maybe they won’t
This is the more likely answer I think, i was going to argue that they have dragon breath as a main ability and that’s black, but that’s literally dragon breath and it’s kinda expected for any dragon to have that lol

There is already some nice tanking abilities by default. A tank spec would make sense. First semi ranged tank would be so cool

Evokers are literally the opposite of Demon Hunters.
DH: Tank and Melee DPS
Evoker: Healer and Ranged.
You’re not likely to see a tanking spec on these.
Another likely explanation is Neltharion probably withheld much of his power in the Dracthyr’s making in case they ever decided to rise up against him.
I figured thats what the Infinity Gauntlet was for, and why he had Malygos (the other crazy Aspect) seal them away when it was destroyed.
My running theory is by the time they were created, Neltharion was at least aware of the old gods and their influence, and so purposely limited their access to black dragonflight abilities in order to make it that much less likely they would end up falling to the old gods
maybe they will merge the 2 specs to have a druid alike with 4 specs, it will be called the Devokunter !
Why isnt there Dracthyr Mage/Rogue/Priest?
Didnt they just do a whole thing about how they should be baseline for all races?
hell, why can they even use axes or swords?
… and my favourite, why did they make the models so feminine? the lack of masculinity is becoming concerning, almost like theres an ag… nvmlol.
I mean, body size 4 seems on the masculine side.
He created Dracthyr to be soldiers, he would not want them to be equal to him in power.
3 and 4, Evokers are casters so wouldn’t be yoked.
Well they specifically want every spec to use the power of all five dragonflights but it certainly would be awesome and logical to get more specs for them
