Why isn't hearthstone in wow?

Always thought it was a huge missed opportunity that hearthstone isn’t playable inside of wow- you should also be able to earn cards in wow through achievements and playing the game.

Makes me curious about the new warcraft mobile game. Is it going to have any sort of integration or just be a stand alone game? What even is a warcraft mobile game? Will we be able to play it on PC like Diablo Immortal?

It’d be very fun to have it be available in game, but I think the reason they wouldn’t do things like unlocking cards with achievements is simply that it would alienate people that only play Hearthstone unless it were just cards that already exist and are obtainable some other way

Oh that reminds me, I used to play Gems while on a FP. I had forgotten about it and tried to /gems the other day and realized it had been removed :open_mouth:

We used to play Peggle back in Vanilla waiting on buffs, run backs, etc.

I wish the characters introduced in hearthstone were in WoW. Like the ones from the book of mercenaries.

I wanna go chill with Varden

I’m about to use some buzz words but I think meta universes that include games from outside of itself within the same universe is a fairly cool/novel concept. Shouldn’t the goal be getting more people inside of the warcraft ecosystem as a whole?

Honestly, I am not a mobile gamer, but I do enjoy card games. Tons of downtime while playing wow chatting with friends and would be far more willing to play games like hearthstone if I could pop them open while inside of wow itself. I know it has a PC app but that’s not the same thing.

SAME!! The games should absolutely borrow from one another. Stuff like that is so much fun. Also having side activities to do in wow like hunt down cards or flesh out hearthstone storylines as side quest content would be entertaining.

It’s why I am curious about the new warcraft mobile game. I don’t want it to be standalone. I want it to expand and grow the franchise. The one thing warcraft desperately needs now is fun factor. It’s exactly this side casual content that has real tangible goals that wow is missing right now.

They don’t even have to be doing anything. Just having them in WoW would at least be interesting.

We need more characters besides Jaina, Anduin, Thrall and Baine

imagine them introducing side areas inside of expansions and areas dedicated to 7-10 quest side plots that give you a card in HS. You’d obviously need alternative ways to get the card in just the game itself, but that sort of collectors activity is fun to me. Maybe make the final quest a hearthstone battle with an npc with busted cards.

We need more silly and entertaining avenues to explore in the game that have nothing to do with the “three pillars”.

Lemme hug Guff Blizz.

I wish they would have added in hearthstone instead of battle pets… :frowning:
dueling people all over WoW would be fun!

When it was first announced, I was hoping there was going to be some crossover and scribes in WoW would be able to craft hearthstone packs about on par with darkmoon cards.

Alas, Hearthstone was too successful/profitable as a standalone game.

(as it turned out though, as much as I enjoy collecting, I just didn’t really enjoy the game … I don’t like adversarial play and I find highly monetized games like that develop an icky manipulative feel to them where they’re never quite fun, just promising that maybe, just maybe, they’d be fun with a small purchase)

Everquest did that for awhile with Legends of Norrath. You could buy cards with money or they would rarely drop in game.

Same! I would love to play in different inns.

I remember that!

I didn’t even think about that. It would be pretty curious they could add something unique at every inn to do for it.
