I feel like if Blizzard wants to increase their character customization option, eye color needs to be an option independently from faces. Honestly, I was surprised when I found out that the golden eye option for blood elves was actually three different faces… like why? Why not just add it as an option for every face? green, gold or blue (joke =P).
From an art design perspective, I feel like this would open up so many options for all the other races too, I really don’t want them to start giving us eye color options attached to a face, that seems like backwards design.

My gnomes are so small that I can’t really tell eye color anyway.

Yeah it really should be separate from the faces.

Hell if Blizz really wanted to icnrease their character customization options, being able to pick an eye color is just scratching the surface at the possibilities of what they could come up with.
I just dont feel like that sort of additional flavoring for characters is that high on their to do list, sadly.

No need for it, since you can’t see characters’ eyes in game:

I 100% support having eye color as a separate customization option. This char has light green (mint green, not Fel green. Her ‘pupils’ are also slit, but that’s another thing entierly ) eyes and it’s not really noticeable, unless you’re making eye contact with her

I know what you are saying, but you just can’t think like that. Hair style and color and even face type is hard to see when actually playing the game… but that doesn’t mean they are not important.

Agreed, I’d like to have more than just green or gold on my Blood Elf. Blue would be especially welcome.
For my Humans and Orcs it’d be nice to have different eye colours without changing the face. For example that blue eyed orc face. I like the face, but I feel the eyes should be rare, as they are in lore. It feels wrong having them on my nobody monk.

Yeah, I agree. It looks like they are starting with adding eye color as an option though, so I just wanted to get my feedback out there that it should be a stand alone option and not attached to a face.
If they go with that design for other races, that would clutter the face options with too many repetitive ones. Even now, human have to choose different faces for different eye color - these options need to have their own tab.

I always think of my Tauren as having bright shiny yellow eyes. So I’m all for it
Female Gnome eyes are so large I cannot miss them!

We’re in a 14 year old game, with code that is glommed together that is even older than that in it’s origins. Without a total overhaul of character customization, none of this is likely to happen. And I just don’t see that coming, ever, no matter how cool it would be.

I will forever be a huge advocate of trolls getting beards like Vol’jin. I feel like a beard on a troll would be so freaking cool!

I would like for eye color to be separate from the face. However, many races and some classes have no choice for eye color at all.

Separating out eye color choices from the faces would be nice. Very, very nice indeed.

They really need to do a total revamp of character creation. Update it to at least close to matching what other MMORPGs have.

I would KILL for Eye Color to be a changeable option. Heck I’d kill for more Character Customization in general. Especially stuff like Muscle mass. I’d like my ladies a bit bulkier and my guys a bit less Steroid-looking.

It may be a limitation to the game engine
I always wished Blizz would revamp the customization and give us sliders and stuff.
I’d probably take me several hours to make an alt.

Star Wars: The Old Republic had great character customization, but the problem was all races were basically humans with horns or head tentacles.
