i used to be a prot paladin main from vanilla til the end of legion and that was because i loved the holy warrior archetype.
however, my paladin for many many years now has been on a full server and i would level a few of my horde alts first. i had intended for my tauren druid to be my horde main, and even leveled him first in legion, but the rest of the time i leveled this warlock first. since cata.
i am now a demonology warlock main and that’s because i have the most FUN with this class and spec and enjoy playing it. he has so many days played as an “alt” and then the tree burned and i went FOR THE HORDE and here we are.
i am much happier now with being a warlock main though i have lots of alts that can tank or heal, when i get that itch.
I started playing as a NE Hunter (shocking, I know) but switched to Priest after a while and played that for many years until the void game play which I didn’t like very much.
When green fire came out I boosted a Warlock (yes! I was that boosted noob!), got my green fire and played that as main for an expansion or so.
I’ve also enjoyed playing Rogue, Monk, DK and Druid although I couldn’t call any of them my main.
When Legion came out, I thought the DH was a lot of fun so for now that is my main. I enjoy the lore, the weapons, the mobility and especially the glide.
Yup - playing 9 years and still can’t pick a main lol.
i’m a huge altoholic as well. it took many many classes at max level before i realized what i wanted to do with my wow life. for me my favorite classes are: warlock, paladin, shaman, hunter. and the 1st 3 i could main no problem without a thought. hunter though if i had old SV still i could definitely main. not totally unhappy with melee in a hunter but wish it had been a 4th spec. the dot playstyle for hunter was really fun.
I started as a rogue back before BC. It was my main until shamans came to play alliance side. Through most of cata my main was shaman until I quit. When I returned in legion I tried to return to my shaman, and it just wasn’t there. So my Rogue is as main as it gets for me. Although all 6 of my 120 characters are very close to each other.
i had to boost a warrior before it became fun. FOR ME, it was super boring and slow and squishy at low levels and i just couldn’t make myself play it except very rarely. i made him in cata and it wasn’t until legion/bfa-prepatch that he became a fun alt though. i leveled him pretty early this expansion too because a warrior at max level is pretty fun.
It is so OP in so many situations. Personally I like being in control of who, what and when I decide to fight… or Vanish and strategically withdraw lol.
I don’t know if everyone defines main the way I do. I’m a hell of an altoholic.
My main is whatever dude I put the most time into for my raid team. So right now, this priest is my main. But that not be the case by the end of the tier.
It’s my main because I really enjoy shadow, and I can off heal if needed. It’s fun, it feels rather strong and I enjoy the rotation (although I’d kill for SW: Death back as baseline).
It’s worth noting that I do always come back to this as a main during every expansion.
For some reason. I used to be a Draenei Death Knight Until BFA come and ever since then I now play as Paladin. I just love being a Footman with a long sword using holy magic with my flying epic horse. XD
rogue has good damage output and i can avoid fights easily, as well as leap over annoying terrain obstacles to get around quicker, so he seemed like the most appealing character to level first and become my main for now.
This guy here has been my main since classic (was undead). When the game came out I think I cycled through every character to at least level 10, not sure what I waned to play. I actually almost burned myself out, but then I gave the mage class a try and fell in love. I loved the fire/frost theme with arcane magic mixed in. I liked being a caster and ‘kiting’. As I leveled I learned that I could really 1v1 just about any class as scorch spam or frost spec (3 minute mage spec was for bads). I loved the class, and as time went I continued to love the fire spec. If I wanted control I went frost, for speed I went fire, for pewpew mode I went arcane. Portals and water were especially nice as a mage. To this day I still love fire spec even if I think it took a major step back from first MoP to WoD, then Legion picked it back up again a bit and BfA shut it down. Frost I actually didn’t like when they stepped away from shatter playstyle in pvp to a spam spec but that at least has come back a bit. Arcane is arcane…
