Why Is Your Guild Name Your Guild's Name?

I was going to give myself tomorrow off. I think I have found my morning activity.

Thankfully I find researching wow fun.

Thank you again, kind lady. I will save this thread and come back once I have achieved my new life goal.

I love Hello Kitty, and Sanrio in general, so I just used a play on words for when I (hopefully) crit something :upside_down_face:

This reminded me that this happened all those years ago:

Because when I was on a pvp server back in vanilla through cata days… I would leave people alone or even help them if they clearly needed it. People knew me as such for not ganking. But they also knew that I would spy on them in trade chat and build counter raids for any attempts at the black bear… and that I also dominated Wintergrasp on my elemental shaman. Oddly enough, they never put two and two together and just did the black bear during Wintergrasp…

Ours was made during wotlk when my bro played a holy paladin but everyone kept telling him he was a tank paladin.Sooo…

The guild name roughly translates as “Victory before Loot” it was made in response when the prior guild split because people were getting annoyed we weren’t gearing their alts, their kids alts, and their cousin’s alts before we went on to harder content. But it’s been awhile and my memory is hazy.

WHY IS YOUR GUILD NAME YOUR GUILD’S NAME?
B-Because I hunt…in the wilds?

I was making a guild to keep my alts in when my cat jumped on the keyboard and I had to knock her off. And then it came to me. The name, the legend…the 2 person guild for me and my husband. But we’ve got it on two different servers, which is cool.

We thought it was pretty darn funny and really fitting for WoW.

To RP as a pvp vendor in some dark corner in Boralus.

I always loved the smurfs and so love gnomes too. I made this guild for all my gnome and mechagnome alts, whose names all end with …smurrf.

I don’t know about any of my current guilds, but I have three bank guilds with somewhat interesting names.

  • Might of the Light - originally a bank guild I made with a priest toon back when guild banks became available.
  • Locked Together - an x-gf & I made locks and made our own guild to share the bank. Needless to say it is only mine now.
  • Sanitys End - originally a failed guild that was handed to me when the leader went off to do heavy raiding. I renamed it when I was smashed late one night, would have been a good name for a BfA guild.

I guess my guild leader is a big Bruce Campbell fan?

I started playing wow with my two IRL brothers in BC. We would always come to each other’s rescue in world PvP and gank whoever had ganked us. So we came up with a fitting name for our guild!

This is a wonderful story, thanks for sharing OP.

I have 2 guilds one for my Horde and one for Alliance. I don’t really do much with raids and mythics so all my characters are in them. I was always fascinated with Gaelic (Scottish/Irish) so most of my characters and both guild names are in Gaelic.

CaomhnĂłirĂ an Tsolais - Guardians (or Warriors) of Light
Linntean Dorcha - Dark Ages

Friend of mine started this guild AGES ago and everyone in it at the time was a Tauren. Then it expanded. Something like the 3rd oldest guild on the server nowadays.
