Why is WrA becoming a target for mass raids from multiple other servers?

So. Um. Question.

I haven’t been on for a few months due to a lot of things happening in life (deaths in family, etc).

Just been recently getting back on the last few weeks.

I’ve been seeing a lot of offserver groups converging onto WrA for some reason recently, disrupting RPers and lagging out the server in capital cities.

Did I miss something to have this become a frequent occurance?

It is getting to the point that this specific server probably needs upgrades to deal with the frequency of this. Or something?

Was this The Terrible Empire?

Their butts are mad at the server for rejecting their ponzi scheme and are maybe retaliating?

its probably because every time they hit WRA people cry about it

the thing about no talent zerg guilds like terran empire and ruin is that they love ruining people’s time and making them mad. so every time people make a thread about it or freak out in trade chat they’re encouraging them to do it again

Something I’ve seen is that the PVP’ers that do exist on WRA or the RP’ers that casually PVP will fight back giving more incentive to return. One of the streamers that hit us repeatedly a month or so ago stated on his stream that was the reason why he was going to keep hitting WRA despite raiding SW on multiple other normal or RP servers.

Just report them if possible. Attempting to crash or lag a server repeatedly is a violation of the ToU and is account-actionable.

Blizzard only cares about Streamers for their PvP and World-Firsts. Folks trying to get cred for crashing RP servers and disrupting RP events will just get perma-banned if enough folks report them for being grundle-ferrets.

I think there’s a concerted effort to destroy Alliance RP on this server personally, though I’m probably shoving my tinfoil hat on a little too tight there.

Good incentive to take some RP outside of Stormwind.

Not that it makes it ok. But Eel is right – they’re doing it because they get a reaction and because they’re MaKiNg ThE kIdZ mAd. The only winning move is not to play.

The RP goes where the RP hubs are. I’m sure some people do take it outside of Stormwind. I regularly RP outside of Stormwind myself. But most people, sadly, go to Moon Guard.

The decrease in Alliance RP on WRA has been nothing short of depressing over the last few years.

Yeah I know. But RP hubs only become hubs when large groups opt to migrate and settle, and bring their contacts to do the same. When the raid came, I went to Dalaran on my Alliance toon and got 0 lag, for example.

RP won’t move outside of the two major cities until players decide they’re interested in doing so in groups larger than 3. Which is also fine if folks don’t want to do that – I don’t actually have anything against Stormwind/Org/Silvermoon/Whathaveyou RP. But its a good way to avoid this kind of shenannery.

Part of the issue here is that players doing Exile’s Reach are automatically shunted into Stormwind, where they currently have a quest chain to complete. So shutting down Stormwind has much wider affects than just making some folks at the Recluse red-arsed.

But if RP is moved out of Stormwind, there’s less people to bother with raids and less people to weight down the last leg of Exiles Reach.

I’m absolutely not doubting anyone here but how can you know whether or not they are intentionally targeting WrA to cause lag or crashes? I don’t doubt it but that truly would
be a supreme waste of life

So…trolling? A sizeable amount of human activity for thousands of years has amounted to supreme wasting of life.

Assuming PvP happened.

because this has been the MO of zerg pvp guilds since the dawn of time. i think most emerald dream players can attest to this given it effectively killed the roleplay over there

supreme waste of time for sure. we’re talking about the type of people that pay subs to multiboxers just to crash other guilds and rack up rage tells

Ah. I think I saw where it seems a couple groups got rejected outright by players that were of both factions.

Strange way to force people to join their groups/community/guild, or PvP, or move to another server out of frustration.

That or things that would be rude to say.

The one I found streaming last night appeared to be making money and fun of RPers.

Figured they were streaming since many appeared to come from same name guild.

(I didn’t hang around it long but it didn’t surprise me. Nothing new.)

Streamers were a mistake.
