Why is WoW turning into a Korean MMO?

I lol’d when I translated this.

Corruptforged gear is going to be a disaster for PVE and PVP.

Like legit…all the weekly gear caches are 100% guaranteed to be corruptforged gear in patch 8.3

That is SOOOOOOOOOO bad. LMAO that is so bad. Throw in legendary cloak grind and AP and it not good.

My favorite is that when you are done with the AP grind (again) there is NO gold because AP in patch 8.3 only has a soft cap and no hard cap. Dumb.

Wait, really? Like the mythic and PVP ones?

Dang, that’s probably going to be better than mythic gear in a lot of cases, then. That’s stupid.

Imagine trying to form a pug where half the idiots die to their corruption, this is going to be a new level of frustration.

You keep talking about essences and tf… how long/ if ever did it take you to get bis gear? Personally? I cleared Arch 26 times without seeing CE. I still to this day have yet to see CE.

You say grind, but you can easily play this game casually doing what you want and still be more than capable of getting ce.

If you are looking to push world first, then you’ve been doing split runs on 4-6 characters for years anyway so playing 15 hours a day everyday and account sharing is the norm.

That is the plan. Maybe it changes the last minute with less than three days to go.

But in my honest opinion forcing corrupted forged gear on all weekly caches loot whether PVE or PVP is not going to work out.

You are correct that if corrupted gear has good RNG that it can be better than gear in other sources of the game. But if the RNG is bad…players will rage quit because of bad RNG from their weekly cache.

I’ve played two korean mmos. Ragnarok online and tree of savior. Both very grindy games. I was pretty fond of Ragnarok online though. Even though it was a grind, it was essentially a good game.

1: Because that’s the discussion we are having.

2: It could have been quick or it could take awhile. Depended on your guild and RNG. Now you literally can’t get BiS. It’s actually impossible. You can only settle for ‘close enough.’

That’s really the only “issue.” Players obsessed with getting “pre-raid” BiS then “MC BiS”…

We actually have more options to get more geared faster and players complain… I understand, you want to be done in a few weeks, then log off till next patch, no thanks.

Corruptedforged gear has more combinations of RNG than titanforging.

Here are the rules as of right now:

  1. Does the gear roll become corrupted?
  2. If the gear rolls a corruption what is the bonus effect?
  3. What tier is the bonus effect on as there are three tiers of corruption?

I think there is more to it but that is just a general idea.

If you are comparing grinding in WoW with grinding in a Korean MMORPG, you obviously have never played a Korean MMORPG.

Try again.

If people chasing the best gear and being prepared for the next tier in a loot-based progression system is an ‘issue’ to you, I don’t really know what to say to that. That’s so ridiculously out of touch that I might mistake you for a WoW designer.

Yes, we’re handing away the best gear in the game randomly, without effort or hard work, just purely random. That’s a rewarding system, that makes players feel accomplished and certainly keeps them playing. Brilliant, amazing.

thats where the money is.

I spent a lot of time on BnS and BDO. Their grinds actually felt long term valuable.

Nope.

I have played many Korean MMORPGs. WoW is quickly approaching Korean MMO grinding. Patch 8.3 is going to prove you wrong on that!

Why do people who appear to hate wow so much even continue to play? And pay to play a game they hate. It’s mind boggling. Don’t like it don’t play it.

It’s really not tho.

You can clear MC and ony in just over an hour with about an hour of prep time before the raid.

It’s not an issue to me. I enjoy being able to log on and get upgrades after the raid is locked out. I enjoy that if I go another week without a raid drop, that I can progress my character in other ways to attain meaningful power.

It sounds like you are the one that does not want progression systems. At least ones that last longer than a month.

It’s only random if you have the greatest luck of all time or don’t understand what is happening.

A yolo bg/ lfr/ wq here will never outgear a high level player. They might get an item or 3 but thats about it. The best weapons, trinkets and chances at high level gear is attained through high level content.

The only difference is that average players aren’t hardstuck in dungeon blues. Which is needed, because despite the power creep/ soft nerf of content that these grinds provide and is the most important reason they exist, 90% of the players that play this game are still trash and can’t clear aotc or ashvane.

Because everyone once in a while the Devs get something right. WoW could be so much better than it is. They just need a staff restructuring.

I mostly do heroics now and my mage outgears some members of method. This is wrong.

Of course it isn’t.
