Why is WoW not loved in north america anymore?

So was streaming a little bit last night and i woke up this morning and twitch showed me this.

Apparently thats how many people watched wow through out the day of tuesday for example.
As you can see no one watches at at night where its supposed to be peak North american but it peaks during 10 am which is euro timezone

Why is wow not loved anymore in north america???

I’ve never watched a single twitch stream in my life (mid 40s) and I play a lot. Twitch viewership does not equate to popularity, at least in my experience.

If this is a Twitch thing, I would think its because “new and shiny” might be that platforms target audience. Just guessing.

You could also say that it peaks when people are at work and can’t play so they watch instead…and crashes when they can play.

I don’t think streaming equals love.

I am in North America. I love WoW and stay subbed and buy epic editions.

I only log onto Twitch when WoW has an in-game reward attached - then, I just put the stream on the background without looking at it.

Is there a current twitch drop for WOW? That is the only reason I will open a tab for it. Generally, I don’t watch other people play games… video or sports.

Outside of people dying to stupid things on Hardcore back when that was new the game is pretty boring to watch.

I play wow for 12 years and i never watched any wow stream…

If North America did not love wow, the servers would be closed already, cause most of the playerbase is from there.

MMORPGs are the kind of game that are boring to watch. People want to play it, not watch. So, It don’t work to mensure popularity of this genre of game.

Twitch still exists?

Take a glance at this OP’s created topics if you’re ever unclear on whether he should be taken seriously or not.

I know that OP is a Troll but it seemed like a nice excuse to pull out the old

“I don’t watch other people play video games, get off my lawn!”

Less about twitch numbers. More about WoW just being past it’s prime.

Stream-watchers are an unreliable sample pool to draw conclusions about the popularity of WoW from. Most players don’t watch streams regularly or at all.

As for me, I work during the day, but often from home and will regularly put on a stream for background noise to focus on my work. When work ends, I’m playing the game myself so, usually not watching. I’m guessing this is the case for most people in NA with jobs.

Now, why I tend to watch more Euro streamers than NA in general, well… that’s a different question.

I rather play the game than watch it on a stream. I have never really watched Twitch streamers for anything, including WoW and I am sure there are more people out there like me.

Equating game popularity to stream popularity IMO is very problematic.

I’ve never had any interest in watching anyone play a game, I’d rather play it myself. I do watch people talk about WoW on youtube, but it’s never a full video of them just playing, sounds pretty boring to me and no idea, personally, why people enjoy it, lol. My wife watches videos of people playing horror games because she will probably never play them, but people who actively play a game watching others play said game…/shrug

I’d wait until Friday when school is out and a lot are off work to judge the popularity. Heck the servers will probably get hit way harder this Friday than they did on Tuesday.
