I recently hit 120 and I was asking my guild some of the best ways to get geared out early.
Many of them recommended farming Waking Essence.
I noticed that alot of the Waking Essence items you get from the vendor are only roughly ~260 ilvl and the gear I’m getting from PVP/Dungeons/Raids is 300+.
Why is Wakening Essence good? Is it worth farming to get geared?
Or if you don’t have a lot of gold to spend, go work on getting Naj gear. That starts at 385. You can also look for drops from Uldum and Vale that are 410 and account bound.
Those will boost the WQs you see. Do EVERY gear quest you can find every day for upgrades.
I have alts that have ONLY done WQs for gear and have ilvls in the 420-430 range.
It is scaled to your character’s ilvl. The more gear quests you do for upgrades, the higher your character’s ilvl will get, and the more likely you will see higher ilvls in the future.
I am actually shocked that your guild mates trolled you so hard. Back in the day, if a guild mate hit max level i would switch to all my crafters and craft him a “starter gear” But yeah worldquests are pretty good, piece by piece you can get your ilvl higher or worldbosses and a little luck !
Not worth farming to get geared, but if you loop back to the Legion content, unlock the 2nd Legion legendary slot through the order hall research and get two legendaries, your Timewalking weeks become far easier.
