Really, why?
Is there a reason to keep it at 600+ gold per outfit change? It’s a lot

They got to make ways for you to lose your gold.
It’s a gold sink, meant to counter the infinite inpour of currency that comes with typical MMORPG design.
Only azerite costs that much though doesn’t it?
It’s based on the vendor cost of the items you’re mogging to. Maybe you should pick a cheaper outfit.
Roll a void elf lol
I’m just glad they nerfed the barber shop prices… before I was paying like 600+ gold for a Bob Job
Because transmog has been, and always will be, a gold sink.
True, mogging full vanilla greens is cheap.
It’s based off the items you’re mogging. Not what you’re mogging to.
laughs in Void Elf
So fabulous transmog is our damn racial. No one compares.
That makes more sense, I have to admit I haven’t ever paid much attention to transmog costs, because even as a super casual it’s easy to afford.
That’s why transmogging Heirlooms is only 1g, because they don’t have a vendor price. It was the same with Azerite gear prior to them adding a vendor price. So transmog looks more expensive right now, because we went for two years with three Azerite pieces only costing us 1g each to transmog.
Gold sink meant to drain the piles of gold that have been accumulated over the years.
One of the reasons why I don’t do it I just run around looking like hot garbage <3
The only transmog I need is “Hidden Helm”, and that’s free.
The more ilvl your gear has the more transmog tax u pay.
Um. I don’t really know how they figure it, to be honest. One of my characters recently mogged a bunch of things from icecrown and it didn’t cost him anything. But this character paid a pretty bundle for mogging her stuff.
I definitely used to think it was what you were mogging from, until that one character got away with paying something like 49g to do his whole outfit. And the only things hidden are his helm and cloak.
If I remember correctly it’s based on the quality of the gear you have equipped, so it’ll be cheaper while leveling in Systemlands.
Transmog is to costly, that’s for sure. They crushed our ability to make gold, reduced repair price by 90% but transmog price stayed the same.
The gold sink argument is plain bad. First, introducing gold sinks just encourage players to make more gold more efficiently. We saw it with mounts (500k lightforged warframe, 333k frogs x 3, long boi 5000k). Second, no matter what they do veteran players will stay rich as hell.
