Why is there only negativity around SOD

There have been a lot of problems with MC. Yes, the raid is far from simple, it takes a lot of time and gear. zg is still unavailable, casuals have nowhere to go. Only tears around

MC is made at a high quality level. This is a tough raid with some serious challenges. The economy is stronger than ever. Many problems have been solved, including rampant bots, hacks, etc. I got a lot of emotions playing sod. This is a head explosion in a good way. Thanks to the developers.

Sorry for bad English

I like SOD a lot too. I wish they’d done a little more to make good on the promise of meme specs being strong (the two worst ones are still pretty much bottom tier raid DPS, moonkin and ret) but I have still had a lot of fun playing SOD and hope Classic+ is coming.

The negativity is carryover from P3. P4 has had a lot of good aspects to it, but it took too long to arrive. By the time it got here, the population was decimated. While a lot of people have come back, the numbers that did are low. I like the game mode and am enjoying myself. But it isn’t hard to understand where others who had hoped for more / got burned out by P3 are coming from.

It’s because they’re trying out all sort of new things, and there’s been a lot of changes. Any change is bound to make certain people unhappy. Then you have these weirdos who feel the need to predict the doom of SoD and vomit their negativity everywhere because a change was made they didn’t like. Let me give you some examples:

No GDKP? Dead game.
No ten man raiding? Dead game.
Raiding is too hard. Dead game.
Raiding is too easy. Dead game.
Class X is not the best tank. Dead game.
Class X is not the best DPS. Dead game.
People have too much gold. Dead game.
Things cost too much. Dead game.
Something is different than vanilla. Dead game.
Something is not like retail. Dead game.

You get the idea. It’s just some salty players who’re mad over their pet issue(s).

You see, it’s not enough that they’re unhappy. Everyone must be unhappy with them.

People expected it to be classic+ when it was more like classic remixed with retail

Heres the negativity that drove me out in P3

Blizzard catering to the elitist players
Blizzard supporting and enabling the “exploit early and often” gameplay style
Gatekeeping

Oh my I forgot the worst of all

This is a big deal, tbh, and a missed opportunity. In 2004, and in 2019, I was in big guilds doing end game raids. But I came to SOD as a casual this time, with a close friend. And there just isn’t enough to do at 60 for a long staying power. I never realized how small this game is if you’re not raiding. If there were even just scaled down versions of the endgame raids, that a single group coudl do, taht would be fun. The rewards could be crap, but at least I’d get to do them with my friend. I know that kind of kills the 'specialness" of requiring 2, 4, or 8 groups of people to do content. But it’s pretty low-hanging fruit.

95% of the negativity I feel towards the devs comes from shadow priest being singled out and nerfed into the toilet when other classes are insane 1v10 machines.

I dare you to make a thread even vaguely close to Raidfinder capability, you will be flamed into oblivion. The elitist would rather the game die that give a leg up to any casual.

There’s a lot of things I won’t make threads about, because the community is so toxic there is no way to get half way sane discussion on. I just, occassionally, give my 2 cents in other people’s threads. And assume no developer even reads any of this stuff anyways.

too many sweaty gold horders and not enough community events

Its not just SoD. WoW players have always trashed WoW. It happened in EQ too. Unhappy gamers.

Must be terrible being at the same skill level as a 2004 raider.

Praying for you to get better.

they have made 0 effort to keep changes within the scope of vanilla and then consequently struggled to achieve any semblance of vanillaesque balance. Literally, all they had to do, mess with some coefficents to bring some classes up a bit, adjust mana costs and/or regen for a couple of classes, give taunt to pala…minor adjustments like this to bring some classes up bit, then focus on the content. But yes, the rest of your statement is maybe too on point. :x

never happened, game caters to casuals, exp boosts, mount cost nerfs, tons of easy ways to get materials, guards added in several locations, raid nerfs, etc

some of those changes are because of cramming the release cadence in to a shorter time period, but yeah.

Yeah the shadow priest nerf was the biggest example of “We just listen to whoever whines the most”
