Blizzard, have you learned nothing from BFA? I am sorry, but your armor set ideas for BFA was a failure, in my opinion. Sure, the warfront armor sets/heritage armor sets are nice, but there is absolutely no reason you could not have done tiers for the BFA raids also.
You gutted the player base xmog customization options with having an armor set that looks the exact same for every plate, mail, leather, and cloth character in the game.
I do not want my characters all looking the same. I want my Death Knight to look like a DEATH KNIGHT, and I want my Paladin to look like a PALADIN and so on and so forth. I do not want them to merely look like a generic plate armor character.
Sadly based on the Shadowlands features I’ve seen, we are heading for more of the same with the covenant armor sets. Sure the covenant sets look nice, but I would still like to see tier sets. I honestly do not understand how you guys have not realized this is a bad idea.
I want to clarify that I am talking about tier sets in terms of their looks. I could care less about the set bonuses.
Sure, you could argue if I do not like the new armor sets, I could always farm for the old tier sets. Which I do quite regularly, however running for xmog is a huge part of this game. Even now, I still see groups forming to run Legion raids for xmog. I highly doubt players will be returning in droves to BFA raids for those lackluster armor sets.
I mean come on people how can you look at warfront armor/ heritage armor sets and then look at, for example, the Molten Core Warlock tier set, ICC Death Knight set, Dragon Soul Warrior Set, Tomb of Sargeras Mage set, and many many more. And possibly conclude that heritage armor and warfront armor is better? Personally, I do not know how you could.
It would be nice Blizzard if you could change your mind before Shadowlands launches. After all, we are going to the freaking AFTERLIFE of warcraft. The tier armor sets you guys could come up for this expansion could be some of your best work yet.
Sincerely
A disappointed player
