@Blizzard, why is there no Chromie time for Vanilla for those of us who love the old dungeons?

I think if you choose Cataclysm is when all of the Vanilla dungeons are available to queue for.

cata timeline includes the vanilla dungeons, you cant even que the cata dungeons until lvl 31+ Or do you mean old school versions of the vanilla dungeons? because the only one queable is deadmines and its a timewalking only dungeon atm.

I just meant the old dungeons… the old school versions of the old dungeons would be asking too much…

Yep, that’s Cata Chromie Time.
I assume the logic is that Cata revamped the world and leveling and became the new baseline for what is now 1-30, so therefore the 1-30 dungeons are “Cata”.
But it’s definitely confusing. Given you can’t actually queue for the actual Cata dungeons (Grim Batol, Stonecore, etc) until you’re 30+ even though you’ve chosen Cata Chromie Time.
They should 100% have Classic or Origin or something listed for the 1-30 stuff and have Cata as it’s own separate thing so people can START in the actual Cata 5 zones and 9 dungeons or whatever it is.

Cause there is no “Vanilla” in retail. This is why there is a Cataclysm option.

I think they don’t have a “vanilla” time because it would require them to create a whole new world map again and then have seperate worlds that later on join again. I can map it out in my head why, but it’s something I feel is hard to put into words… I know what I said may not make sense.

Maybe this will happen now we have Classic TW. There is a lot of crossover with Cata TW/CT though.
A bigger question is: why is there no BFA TW? It’s been years. Or SL TW.
This, the phasing would be a nightmare for them. In the best of times they don’t do a great job. Why they don’t bring back pre cata dungeons is beyond be. I feel like they promised actual classic for TW and just gave one classic. The pool alone they gave us was a joke. To me it’s clear they just did what was easiest and not what we wanted.

Not to mention there are ways to unlock some Classic versions of dungeons/raids. Sadly, two of them require a toy that drops from a mob that I have yet to see spawn after more than two or three dozen runs of Scholomance.
At least accessing Classic Scarlet Monastery isn’t that difficult, to the point you can buy the key off the AH. Got lucky and found it a loot-filled pumpkin during this year’s Halloween event.

Honestly, the phasing alone would be a potential nightmare, and the phasing in the game is already kinda off at times (took me a while to be able to get my Void Elf on the right phase to be able to access the Rift since for some odd reason it was no longer available in front of the Emissary office for the Allied Races, had to start the quest-chain with Alleria in Legion Dalaran to be able to get the heritage armor.)
Imagine trying to figure out how to do phasing for two entire continents, all while those continents are completely different geographically from the rest of the game. Ziradomi/Cordiormi certainly helps in that matter, but they are not bulletproof in terms of stability (I hear Ziradomi is for some reason missing for Tirsfall Glade for some/a lot of players.)
It’s not uncommon for me to hear about players confusingly finding three different Anduins placed about Stormwind Keep due to the phasing system Blizz has for this game. The best solution to be able to access Pre-Cata content is simply through Classic WoW.

because there is no vanilla, cata chromie time contains all the re-worked “vanilla” but you arent getting any pre-cata stuff because its simply not in retail anymore
Most of you are missing the point. They want a vanilla chromie time that puts the world in a pre cata state.

I think he means Vanilla-Vanilla. Because some old dungeons in the old world were revamped in Cata.

Because Blizzard hasn’t learned that people will enjoy content that they have already created, and only wants us to be consuming new content. But new isn’t always better. And even if it is better, older stuff is still something different to do
They absolutely should have a vanilla chromie time. I think take it a step further – bring back vanilla cities, maps, etc in vanilla chromie time so that people can get old transmogs and stuff. I never got to experience the old naxx, I would love to!

What I would like to see is classic remix like event. Modern characters in the classic world. Modern sensabilities with classic feel but with the modern character list and models.
That would be pretty fun
