It says on the rating on the back of the game box that game is rated T for teen for blood suggestive themes uses of alcohol and tobacco and violence
I know alcohol is in the game and there are many NPCs seen drinking, but I haven’t haven’t seen any NPCs smoking tobacco. There is the Dark Iron Smoking Pipe, but that is a trinket.
So, why has there not been any NPCs seen with pipes or cigars? Or, better transmog pipes or cigars? Gandalf had that long smoking pipe that would be great as a transmog for in game Mage players.

I know that hooka have been part of the draenei themed decorative clutter since back in TBC. So you can lounge about and puff on a hooka.
Not gonna lie, chomping a cigar as I charge into battle would be pretty rad.

Yay there a Hooka Lounge in Magisters’ Terrace. There also ale mug maces, yet there is nothing that is retaliated to tobacco use and can be brandished as a weapon.
Think about having a Hooka Shisha as your weapon.

Yeah smoking is weird with video games
The only reason Overwatch for example got a T rating was because of Cassidy’s cigar. They had to remove Tychus smoking a cigar in Heroes of the Storm

There not even any toys that are tobacco use related. A bubble pipe toy would be nice to have. Perhaps even rainbow bubbles for prideday?

As was said when the original “Total Recall” came out: you can show a decapitation or someone’s head getting blown off with a shotgun … but you can’t show a woman on top of a man having sex. That’s verboten!

Cultural Taboo.
On a personal note, I smoked for 30 years before quitting. I don’t recommend it. It’s a health wrecker. If Blizzard doesn’t want to romanticize that particular nasty habit? I don’t much mind. Had Marvel comics not done so in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I might not have picked up a cigarette to begin with. I’m forced to wonder how many cases of lung cancer Wolverine’s writer is responsible for.

Also keep in mind, that up till maybe the 2000’s doctors actually advised tobacco and smoking as healthy… so some real medical misinformation was involved.

I’d want to see receipts on that one. One thing that sticks out for me was all the little surgeon general warnings C Everet Coop plastered on the side of cigarette packs. And… I don’t know about anyone else? But by the end of the Reagan administration I was so sick of the man I just wanted him to disappear. He had an opinion about everything and was in your face about it on TV 24/7. Noone elected him. He just found the “public health” bully pulpit and wouldn’t stop. Not unlike a certain other current doctor.
I’d say by 1998-2000 it was a practically extinct practice, but kinda nuts to think before the 80’s everybody either had no negative view of smoking or even recommended it.

Dates are a little off, there. I know in the 70s we were being subjected to rigorous and sustained anti-smoking stuff in school and on kids’ TV.
