Why is there no match making system for PvP?

Really frustrating having to scroll through premade groups to find a group which will let you jump in. All of these have certain CR requirements, and since there’s no way to queue up for a competitive PvP match based on your skill level, the only way to get into a group is to have a certain CR that you can only get by being with them in the first place. (It’s the same problem as “entry level” jobs that want 5 years of experience to begin with.)

So it seems to me the only way to get in to it is to either scrounge up 9 other people that will either carry you OR scrounge up 9 other players to gain CR alongside you against another group of people with a completely random skill level, since there is no apparent MMR or game system to match up players evenly.

Overwatch and Hearthstone both have matchmaking for casual and competitive, and ranks determined after x amount of games. No reason why there can’t be in WoW. Why do I have to suffer through this gatekeeping BS just to PvP? I don’t care if I have to start at a bronze level (or whatever beginner level). I understand WoW is a social game, but LFG and LFR have been in the game for a decade now, why not for PvP?

Let me just queue up as a spec, and let the game find similarly ranked people. Give me a rating after 10 games. Give me repeatable quests to do a la HS that let me work towards rewards. Seems really freakin’ simple to me.

Stoopzz and other have been trying to bring attention to this for a while now.

There is , its called GET STOMPED NOOB, :sunglasses:

Overwatch and Hearthstone are primarily pvp games. This is exactly why we have been telling pvpers to find a dedicated pvp game not like Wow .

Wow does have this

Casual = Unrated PVP such as BGs and unrated Arena Skirmishes
Competitive = Rated PVP such as RBGs and Rated Arenas.

I guess the one and only difference Blizzard can do is lock competitive players out of unrated pvp once they start progressing rated content and/or hit a certain skill cap so they aren’t completely decimating bad/unskilled players left and right and ruining their casual experience.

Then why don’t you go play Rift and enjoy a raid dedicated game not like Wow  Wow is many things to many players. I personally don’t get battle pets but that doesn’t mean the players that do should leave wow to play pokemon. If you want to collect all the mounts in the game that’s all you. Nothing about the PVP improvements affect your game enjoyment so why are you complaining Karen?

Wow is a pve game with a side game pvp this has been the case since vanilla, Pvp was added to the game later on duh !!!

If anything added after vanilla is unacceptable why don’t you go play classic?

Then why were there PVP servers in vanilla if there was no PVP?

I too think Daddy Blizz should listen to Stoopzz. If Blizz grows complacent, the matchmaking deficiency in the SL’s PvP system will soon start eating subscription numbers with so many casual PvPers leaving.

According to sites like Loot District, PVP participation is already down over 60% in the rated brackets. Some of this is probably due to the fact PVEr’s have gotten their gear and moved on.

You mean undergeared players. Unless you equate “undergeared” with “bad”. The idea that someone 30 ilvls lower than someone else loses because of “skill” is absurd.

Who could have guessed that people who feel forced to do PvP to get gear for PvE would stop doing it the moment they got their gear?

Instanced PvP was added to the game during vanilla.

Ok time to bring in the BOLD :sunglasses:
Pvp server is for world pvp we had that since classic. World pvp died as pvp servers where actual pve server with name tag pvp as there was population imbalance in almost all of them that why we have warmode today .

Let me be more clear

Hearth stone has pve content also but its a a PVP game with a side game as pve
Overwatch also has pve content buts its PVP game with a side game as pve

Now use the same analogy
Wow is a PVE game with a side game of PVP.

If you sitll can’t figure it out , then I know why our Dev Mr Hashecookedstuff said you guys can’t find pvp vendors.

Mr. “never used a vendor in his life”? Of course he understands better than anyone, because he’s the one that turned PvP into a sidegame to benefit the people with the best PvE gear. And he’s been pushing PvP himself lately. He’s up to honor level 6.

i’ve seen plenty of undergeared players utterly embarrass fully geared players… gear =/= skill. even seen plenty of level 60s get destroyed by level 50/51 twinks with even larger item level gaps…

Lmao, imagine your reasoning for a game executing something poorly is that it’s not the games primary design. By your own logic you’re admitting it’s a bad.

There is absolutely a MMR system in place, but it takes the whole group into consideration. There is no soloqueue.

You just have to start from the bottom. I assume you are talking RBGs based on the number of players you mentioned. There are absolutely groups available that do not require any CR to get into, however depending on your class and your current gear it may be quite difficult to get into them.

Unless you have some half decent PvE gear whilst still maintaining over 20% versatility you are going to get overlooked in place of those who do have that better gear or play meta classes etc.

You mean this vendor who doesn’t sell any gear, yeah he really knows what we want lol

Yeah. Right. Nope. “Gear doesn’t matter in PvP, but make sure I get to keep my huge advantage and it continues to grow as poorly geared players are locked out of progression.”

Nope. Gear matters even more than it did in BfA, and next season it will be even worse than corruption made it in 8.3.

You always support special accommodations for the privileged. The idea that you couldn’t 1 shot a 180 geared player would be hysterically funny if it wasn’t for the fact that you personally are destroying the game for your own short term gains.

because wow is all about having players make groups themselves for the higher end stuff. its pretty unique. its nice when it works well. sux when it doesnt. i could take it or leave it. maybe have both options?

Mad respect for Stoopzz.

He’s so right about the fact that in any other game, you can get into any game you want without the barrier to entry, which allows you to practice and get good.

But WoW’s current system and just so stupidly outdated and dumb.

How would it be possible for me to become a better Lucio player in Overwatch if I wasn’t able to just queue up and get into a game? If the game was built around trying to manually find groups in an LFG, no one would accept me unless I was absolutely the best.

This is literally the same problem in WoW, players who want to get into arena can’t even play the game to begin with because no one wants to group with them or no one wants to join them lol.
