Any idea why no arena world championship at Blizzcon? There’s only a guild clash exhibition from my understanding.
It’s the one time of year both EU, Asia and NA can be on equal ping… and it’s exciting… what gives?

They probably couldn’t find enough teams that don’t win trade/hack.
Maybe not enough people cared? Maybe something to-be-announced is eating up all of the manpower that would be devoted to it? Maybe Blizzard is finally cutting back on esports for games that definitely didn’t need esports scenes?
MMOs have always been glorified stamp collecting games. It’s really weird when people try to treat them as serious esports.
Some people like watching soccer.
I like watching my favorite players play for money in my favorite game .
They’re streaming Blizzcon for free. Are there media rights through YouTube for these events now?
this question is not directly related to “why is there no arena world champ at blizzcon” but it does related to Arena World Championships as a whole.
I was wondering if anyone out there knows about actual World Championships and Competitions. My question is, do players all get a pre-loaded computer and the player just logs in and plays? Are there addons and macros allowed at these types of competitions? Does the player bring his or her own keyboard and mouse or is there one provided? Because if theres a “standard house model” used for these tournaments i’d consider picking one up just to get used to it. afterall, every different keyboard and moust has a different feel to it. like my trusty blackweb keyboard thats “technically” in two peices, but theres still 1 screw holding it all together and the shift key only sticks when its important to use This corsair mount is the bees’s knees though, really enjoying it after taking time to get used to it. Its the Corsair Nightsword. gotta say its a 10/10 after getting used to it.
Because Blizzard wants you to play Overwatch 2.
I will play overwatch 2 if it comes with a free subscription to world of warcraft
( i wont actually play Overwatch 2)
I am, however, looking very forward to picking up / playing Cities Skylines 2 when I get a new laptop.
I will also play overwatch 2 if EA/Origin/Dice comes out with battlefield 2142 revisited (2143) and its included with Overwatch 2 (… I still wont actually play Overwatch 2…)
there will be an arena match
They probably didn’t want the audience falling asleep watching WoW PvP.
Ummm, no. Some people solely play MMOs for competitive rated ladders. WoW’s rated PvE and PvP have both been highly competitive for a long time. Some people play more casually, just as some people do in chess, LoL, Rainbow Six, etc. Some MMOs may be ‘just for stamp collecting,’ just as some cars are made for simple commuting and some are made for F1 racing. WoW is an MMO that has options in how one plays, some being competitive and some not. The strategy, technicality, and tenacity that go into endgame competitive PvE and elite 3v3 arena, etc., are not to be taken lightly from a competitive scene standpoint.
