Why is there a corruption rotation?

I just got 455 Legs but they’re worse than my 445 ones because they don’t have increased crit. How is this okay? So not only did we have to wait for a vendor in the first place, but now we also have to wait for weeks just for the correct corruption to pop up? This is honestly the most broken, unfun system I have ever seen. Even WF/TF is more fun than this nonsense.

What does the corruption vendor have to do with 455 pants?

They didn’t have to do the corruption vendors at all but they add it and people still complain.

Oh well, guess you’ll just have to wait, right?

It has to do with the fact that since the pants don’t have the 12% increased crit stat gain from the corruption effect, they’re worse than legs 10 iLvls below. And I can’t buy the crit corruption because it’s not up, so now I have to wait a week or more just to be able to use an item that should be an upgrade.

Because we wanted control of this all important system that decides how much damage you do.

So we complained for control, and they gave us control…with timegating on it. And it’s not even “you need to grind this out” gating, it’s artificial “you can’t buy this until we let you!” gating.

The corruption rotation is roughly 4 weeks, a subscription to WoW lasts roughly 4 weeks… Hmm…

Would’ve been better to let enchanters get the corruption after de’ing items with the corruption on them and sell them to others.

That would make Enchanting WAYYYY too good considering Corruption effects are about 40% if not more of your DPS now.

It’s really odd that they’re afraid to make catch up mechanics better and let you get decent cape resistance and corruptions faster.

People want to get them so they’re on an even playing field in PvP and/or PvE and then play with them. They don’t want to slowly catch up and only make it at the end of the expansion and then barely get to play with them before it all goes away for SL.

You also should be able to get multiple sets of corruptions so you can play around with different builds. That would be fun. That would entertain people until shadowlands, yet the devs are afraid to let you even get ONE entire set in a decent amount of time.

They need to:

  1. Remove the vendor rotation
  2. Remove vessels so you can run visions as many times as you need to catch up (lower echoes if necessary, but I think we need a faster echo farm personally)
  3. Remove the limitation on how many cores you can get for resistance catch up each week so people can farm and catch them up at their own pace

They really should let us buy R3 essences without the achievements as well. If not, drastically nerf the requirements of some of them. Things like vitality conduit are complete game changers still yet they’re locked behind a raid hardly anyone runs anymore that most people never did that are coming back so they have no achievement to link to get into the tiny number of raids that are ever in the group finder. The raid finder version takes 21 weeks to get to a rank 3 essence. Make it 3 weeks for LFR, 2 for normal and 1 for mythic/heroic. Remove the rating requirement on conflict and strife and increase the number of things you get per week for r3.

Because Blizzard always does this Monkey’s Paw BS when it comes to player feedback.

“We’ll give you the Corruption Vendor you wanted since the day 8.3 launched… BUT…”

Maybe the people that still need the EP essences can just group with each other and do it?

Because they want to piss you off so you cancel sub.

Dunno why I found this so funny

Or maybe Blizzard shouldn’t leave BiS essences in outdated raids and behind rated PvP walls in the first place and have a perfect solution already implemented with the vendor and could just remove the pointless requirement to buy them since that would be an extremely easy solution.

I agree they should loosen requirements on EP essences but tbh it’s super easy to get into a heroic group for eternal palace. You don’t even need AOTC achieve.

Wait, I thought we used to ask for older content to not be obsoleted in the next patch?

Now we have an essence, 2 trinkets, and a OH weapon that are all still solid as a reason to spend a small amount of time in an older raid.

Who’s we?

I personally preferred WotLK catch up mechanics. You could get an entire Ulduar set in a week farming heroics when trial came out.

Tbf, at that ilvl I don’t think it really matters.

Think about it like this: I want to mythic raid. I’ve gotten my ilvl up close to as high as it goes without doing mythic. What’s my next step? Wait two weeks for the correct corruption to be on the vendor. Why is this good design.

Getting a raid tier lower would be like 430 gear right now (EP heroic) which you can get that and WAY higher by doing dungeon spamming. Much faster and covers every slot than the older method.

Or even in solo content via emissaries and visions.

It’s the royal “we”, just part of the community that continues to have conflicting priorities.
