Can we stop gating story behind raids/dungeons feels unncessary and forces me to do something that I really dont want to do just to experence the story
I mean, I remember there pretty much always being quests in dungeons to advance storylines. Wasn’t fighting VanCleef a pretty big climax in the human story? Even that ended up leading you to the Stocks.
Yup, plus the eventual end of that whole storyline was technically the Onyxia questline, which needed you to go into BFD and eventually take out Onyxia herself
You wouldn’t like FFXIV, Op
I was literally going to come back to say like… keep going even farther and you find out about Prestor. Then the only way to conclude that is to kill Onyxia.
Its not gated though. Just need to complete it on M+20 or higher.
Patch name - Fractures in Time
Dungeon name - Dawn of the Infinite
How does the dungeon that deals with timelines feel unnecessary to a storyline that deals with fractures in timelines?
As I said can we stop? im aware of previous examples. My point why is it not possible for my character to have the quest unlocked even if they havent done the dungeon? The quests happen in the outside world
Whats the point just to punish me for not liking dungeons/raids?
So instead of “the dungeon story is finished with a quest in the dungeon, makes sense”.
You somehow highjump straight over the mentally unstable bar to “blizzard specifically hates me, Esily, there is no other explanation”.
The reason why quests usually finish within dungeons or raids is it allows blizzard to tell a story about said dungeon or raid. Its the same with zone quest chains eventually ending up in the zone dungeon to help tell a story.
I don’t like questing. Do I have a leg to stand on saying that the entirety of the story should be instanced and I’m being punished that it’s not?
dungeons are part of story.
Then why are you playing an MMO?
Group content is a major focus of the game, how do you people get so utterly flabbergasted by this??
It is really the only way to make dungeons and raids even relevant.
I think they do this to have metrics in dungeons. Yes they are forced but they can then say “hey look folks love our dungeons.”
From a lore point of view 100%.
The rest of us just gotta wait for the heroic version.
- No one is forcing you to do anything.
- Why are you playing a theme park massively multiplayer online game if you don’t like theme parks nor massively multiplayer online games? Look up the story on YouTube if that is all you want to do, or play games that focus on that over any other aspect.
Because forumites have the collective intelligence of a mite…
The only quests gated behind the dungeon are ones concluding what you saw in said dungeon. You’re delusional.
OP doesn’t even want to do heroic.
I just looked it up on Youtube. I don’t plan on doing the dungeon until the heroic version is released.
