Why Is the Money Refunded Into Our Bnet Account?

That’s still over $300 [Physical purchase and digital purchase] taken out of my bank that I need for food and essentials and that I still won’t see back when I input my physical code.

Because the $100+ doesn’t get refunded back into my bank but instead into my battle.net account.

I can get tapering off that purchase over time by solely paying the rest of my subscriptions with this money in my account, but that chunk of funds is still missing from my bank throughout that whole period.

There’s a reason I don’t do 6-month subscription renewals because that’s a good portion of money I want now in my bank, not later.

I get the digital purchase being put back on your bnet account (and I seem to recall they say that in the purchase agreement) but physical purchases? That sounds wonky.

Good luck though with customer service.

The only lesson I learned from all of this: never buy a CE physical copy ever again.

(sad gnome face) because all I want is the art book…

No, the physical purchase I assume would be refunded back into my bank, but in order to ensure I get the ‘code’ in time for pre-patch I would have to buy the digital copy as well which is an additional $100+ dollars I would rather not pack on.

I can handle around $200 for a one time purchase that I will play for 2 entire years, that’s $8 every month for 24 months, but the same purchase of an added $100+ that won’t refund back in my bank but into my bnet account is completely unnecessary.

Blizzard seriously should have a better system in place for physical purchases because in the end they still get the moolah while I’m out $100 of food money.

Ah, thank you. I was just a bit confused (which with my lack of caffeine this morning is understandable lol).

I’m assuming not USD since even if you bought the CE and Epic edition (which wouldn’t make sense to me if all you’re after is early access but to each their own) it’s about $220 before tax.

I just don’t understand why the CEs can’t be digital+. Meaning you get all of the digital items and game upgrade now and the physical ones are sent later.

Precisely. I’m pretty sure the purchase was tied to my account still over at Gear or at least the e-mail, and if not then it should and we should be able to have the code not only given to us but tied to the account so the account has no choice but to be the only one who can use that code.

This would prevent abuse of this system.

Details? Did you pay with a credit card? If so it should go back to your card. If you used a checking account/debit then yeah, fewer options there…

This is the reason I pay for everything online with credit cards only, that way you have options or the ability to get a refund/reversal if something happens and you’re not happy

Generally not a good idea to use a debit card/cash for the online world, it’s just more hassle/work to get your money back if something happens or you need to start a refund

This is Blizzard’s system for the CE. They refund only as Bnet balance.

No, Blizzard made an announcement a while back saying the money would be refunded into our Battle.net account. Not into our bank, which is an absolute outrage.

Ever since Blizzard introduced pre-purchase perks, physical copies have been a straight downgrade.

Well that’s a strange policy, they must really want to keep that CE money then lol

Pretty underhanded if you ask me.

I use credit cards/PayPal for everything online, never had an issue like this. Even when a dispute arises, PayPal always sides with the customer (me). Credit cards have been good to me :hugs:

I am NEVER buying one again. I’m 100% and completely serious, this is absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah and this is a slightly different scenario but the same result:

If you buy Dragonflight (Base, Heroic, or Epic) on the Battle.net Shop and then redeem a Collector’s Edition code, we will automatically refund you the cost of your digital purchase in Battle.net Balance, as long as you redeem the Collector’s Edition code before December 31, 2023.

I agree. It’s beyond parody.

Actually tying the codes to the physical copies is ridiculous. They should just give you a digital code on purchase and say “yeah, your artbook and whatever will arrive sometime in the next few months or so”.

Having to buy two copies just to actually utilize the prepurchase perks is stupid as hell. The fact that they don’t even refund your your actual money, but instead pay you in store-credit is even dumber.

You know you could read my other posts if that’s not too much work for you.

Look. The system could be better. But man am I hung up on the details.

“Money is tight, and I am worried about food. But I spent 100 bucks on a second digital purchase of the game so I could ensure I could play it at prepatch”

If you read the fine print we wouldn’t be here either
