Considering the honor ship sailed away long ago and that the horde is basically the honorless faction isint it a bit of a bad joke?
I mean they nuked theramore, burned the world tree, have been belligerent on and off since their inception … i’d put you all back in one of blackmoores internement camps.
Wanders off lost in reverie

Just like why Alliance army called Legion when they’re nothing but farmers.

Careful. You don’t want human farmers on your back, they’re the most dangerous force Azeroth has ever seen. There’s a reason Westfall is a moral graveyard and everyone wanders about the fields.

The Honorbound basically are the replacements of the Kor’kron (what with Garrosh going all Genocidey and disgracing their image). They might have been formed during Vol’jin’s time as Warchief as part of his “Uphold Honor” deal with Varian.
Now Sylvanas has gone Genocidey and is disgracing their honorable image.

Yar I may know how to stack hay and make tauren dairy products, but I know the way around a sword.
Because due to their pledges of loyalty to the horde, they’re honorbound to help Sylvanas commit her atrocities.

I was just thinking about this awhile ago. The name is pretty ironic when you consider their recent and overall actions.
Then again orcs throw around honor more than SJWS throw around “equality”.

In the alpha, all the Honorbound guys training next to the portal room in Dazar’alor were actually called Kor’kron, but I guess blizz decided that time the Kor’kron followed Garrosh into gleeful genocide tainted the name a bit.
Pretty sure those badass farmers didn’t care much about racials or faction imbalance.

The Alliance has an established military force - The 7th Legion.
The Horde needed a counter part to that. So this was made up. I mean, they use to have kor’kron but all of the Horde’s unique lore somehow always gets turned into villain stuff.
Anyway, they are Honorbound now. Something about a blood oath that binds you to the will of the warchief?
Basically blizzard wants it both ways - Horde are either super honorable or super evil depending on the plot.

Hey if the alliance gets to be considered holier than thou and the “good guys” even though that’s blatantly not true…then the horde gets to be honor bound.

Try think about it in universe not out of universe. its really easy to pull stuff apart if you have a omnipotent view of everything.

The Horde is called the Honorbound because we are bound by honor to lose.
“Sylvanas wants to win - that is without honor! We are honor bound to lose to the Alliance!” - the Horde

I laughed.
If I didn’t already feel royally screwed over by Blizzard and “the Horde”, i would feel more sorry for you guys.
On a serious note, I’m sorry about Sylvanas. She showed so much promise in the BFA trailer as a warchief you all could rally behind. (I mean, I was jealous and hated you guys for it, but I still can show some empathy now that it has been snatched from you all).

They are called honorbound as a means to future-proof the faction’s name after sylvanus is killed off and the “honor” is restored to the horde. Wouldn’t make much sense to give the faction a name like “sylvania’s magical death squad” since after this expansion she’ll be attracting flies… well more than usual.

Oh, you sound like the “honorable” not so honorable Saurfang. /spit

You’re saying that like it can’t work when there are several works of fiction that prove otherwise.
The ship sailed with us on board, bound for honour, no idea when we will land, but it looks like never at this rate.
