So I pre-purchased the Dragonflight Collector’s Edition, as well as BFA’s and Shadowland’s in the passed years.
What I used to do is buy the Collector, then buy the Epic Version to instantly play with the benefits it’s giving. That was basically $175 + $120 on release of both. Which ultimately sucked. Yes the Collector’s Edition gives you back an amount, but it’s only about $80 even when you spend $120 to get the version you got.
However this year I didn’t. I don’t play a lot as it’s pretty boring and I probably won’t even play in Season 4. I’ll get the raid mount and I’ll never play until Dragonflight.
Now what I don’t understand, is why the code for the in-game version is still in the box ? There should be a code sent to you by mail the second you buy the Collector’s Edition, or the second that edition becomes actually available to purchase and not just to pre-purchase. Right now I paid much more than most players, yet I have to watch those players play with something I don’t have because my version comes at home in a few months. Those who paid $54 (Canadian) which is for the base version of the game still gets a pet, and gets the possibility of playing the Dracthyr race / class before the official release of Dragonflight if it do be available before. Those who paid $89 CAD gets that, but also get a lvl 60 boost available right now, a Flying Mount and an other Pet.
Now I paid $175 for mine, +US +Shipping it became $225. And as it always does I’m also expecting Customs taxes which usually brings it all the way up to $300. I get nothing until it arrives. Which, once more, can be anytime from now to December 31st 2022.
I’ve mentioned in an other forum to at least send every Pre-purchaser a code to the Alpha so we have something others won’t have outside of lucky draw. This would be an idea, but a Code to the in-game versions should be sent by mail when we buy it.
